AH! A gas mask! I think you might be right on the money with that. I think at some point the lady on the outside was okay, then proceeds to take the mask because things are going bad.

Howard and gang hear banging outside while trying to have a "nice" dinner, Howard does the hand thing and is trying to shake off another person trying to bang on the door and get in. MEW hasn't been there long and still doesn't trust all of what Howard has told her (evident by earlier line of her talking to JG jr. in the trailer). Swamp pop bottle smash, MEW runs to let the person in, then she sees gas mask lady banging on door and suddenly things turn south. Maybe Marlena bitten type effects? See takes the gas mask off then throws up blood on the window and pop goes the lady outside a' la Marlena and now MEW believes Howard, then the rest of the movie happens.

I swear when MEW pulls back from the door in the trailer I can see a blood splatter on the window like either the woman outside is banging her head against the window or has thrown up blood onto it. It didn't look like that was there moments before when the zoom in on the door window happens.

 		Emergency Essentials
Just trying to save everyone some time and hassle. Emergency Essentials (The name of the company on the buckets with the phone numbers) is a company local to me. They have been around for a very long time, and are well known (at least in Utah where they originate) for food rations, water storage and filtration, and other emergency living type needs.
This is the perfect product placement for them, and kudos to them for being great at what they do.
All this being said I like Pixie, am firmly on the OOG side of the fence. I hope this helps people be more cautious with following this as a lead.

 		I only just connected this, but 3/11/16 is the five-year anniversary of the Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami. There's no way that's a coincidence, right? How could I have missed this? I lived through it!

 		That image of the woman banging on the door is...upsetting...
especially since I didn't catch the face watching the trailer the first time through.

I don't feel like Howard is the villain, anymore. I think the "monsters come in many forms" may literally mean different kinds of monsters (caused by something similar) rather than an allusion to Howard holding them captive. Although, I do think he's probably desperate and not exactly at peak mental health. This may inform how things shake down in our experience going forward.

EDIT: if it's any kind of zombie anything, I'll be disappointed.

Have there been any ties in the 10CL ARG that is related directly to the characters from Cloverfield?

I need to know if Rob and Beth survived.

I meant more that I don't think Howard is the monster. Literally or figuratively, but mostly figuratively. I think there's been an underlying thing that he's the "monster" based on his behavior. Like double entandres? "There's actual monsters out there, but the real "monster" is this crazy person holding us captive."

OMG I'm sorry, wow, so... I shouldn't have been reading the forums while watching TWD because even though i quoted your post, asshole me read it totally wrong on my phone screen and swore you said Howard is a villian, not the opposite. More my bad than I care to admit here...
