Perhaps it's Howards wife? Like: where the heck is my daughter???

I also wonder, if the verb in "Monster comes in many form" is a meta slogan about Clovie being monstet outside and Howard being monster inside the shelter.
Or..... rather an in-fiction line about various dangers outside the shelter (as quotation of Howard).

Something has been bugging me. And since we got the TWD ad, I thought I'd just write it down. It's time line related.

-In the First trailer, we see them sitting at the table playing TGOL. Howard has a band-aid on his forehead in this shot. When he's starting the catfish puzzle, again. the band-aid.
-In the shots where they look up from the tremors, he also has it.
-The next one. He's looking at MEW angrily, no band-aid.
-When he is opening the vent, he has no band-aid, but a scratch on his head.
-Back at the table, when he's doing the hand thing, he has no band-aid, no scratch.
-The scene at the barrel. Scratch again.

The scene where MEW hits him with the soda bottle is the most logical point in time to get the injury. She hits him right there with the bottle. But we can see MEW with him in the scenes with the band-aid and the scratch.

Making the assumption the logical order is: injury - band-aid - scratch. This leads me to believing MEW doesn't get out at that point. I think she's spooked by what happens at the door and gets back in. So she's present at the scenes with the band-aid.

The other thing is that when we see her outside, she had the 'duct-tape suit' on. And there's the scene with the make-shift gas mask where I think she's reaching up. She doesn't have the suit on when she's running for the door after hitting Howard.

In the TWD ad, we see a second hatch, at the top of a ladder. I think that's the point where she gets out. Wearing a make-shift hazmat suit, being better prepared. But some time after the escape attempt we see in the first trailer.

In the 'outside' scenes, we mostly see her wearing the make-shift hazmat suit, except for the car-crash scene and I think the explosion scene.

So far this has all been based on things I saw. But here's the speculation part:

MEW wouldn't know how to make a make-shift hazmat suit or the make-shift gas mask. But Howard would. He's the prepper and will most likely have seen one of the numerous pages on-line about making them.
But the suit she's wearing is a perfect fit for her. See the scene where she's standing in front of the house. What if she didn't make it herself but it was made by Howard, or he helped her with it?

Somehow the scene where she has the gas mask on makes me think Howard has helped her with the suit in order to fix something for them. Combined with her climbing in the vent-after the noise- seems to be checking something out there too

She is carrying stuff when she seems to be running for the door through the fire- that seems to be a later escape attempt, and may be the time she goes out with the suit. The time when she hits him and runs looks like the first escape attempt- and she sees what's outside and comes back.

JJ and S. King's new time traveling series started on Hulu today. The name of the show is:
11.22.63

Maybe something? Possibly a looooooong stretch.

BUT you do see an ad for Slusho in the diner on the first episode.

JJ {and sometimes other BR folk} puts slusho in a great many things, it doesn't make them connected at all. It is called that because that's the name of King's book.

My thoughts on the timeline, is that most of what we see in the trailers happens at the very beginning of the movie - she crashes, gets captured, Howard tells her he saved her, she doesn't believe him, hits him on the head and runs for it, makes it to the door and tries to open it, but then sees something horrible outside, and changes her mind.

At that point maybe she believes Howard, but they need her to go outside for some reason, which is why he would help her with the hazmat suit.

or Howard had already made a suit for Megan and MEW fits in it?

oh.. and dont think the woman outside would be Megan seeing as she is wearing a wedding ring and from the way he has spoken to and of her, Megan is still 'daddys little Radiogirl"..

Have we said yet that MEW's Eiffel Tower shirt is most likely Megan's or one that Howard bought for Megan?

MEW dresses in four distinct outfits in the trailers.

The white sleeveless shirt.
The blue blouse with white flowers, at the table with THO I
The Eiffel shirt
The hazmat suit.

That's all I could spot.

White shirt scenes:
Waking up with the leg brace, no jeans
On the bed with jeans.
At the table, with jeans smashing bottles and attempting escape

The blue blouse screens: game of life

The Eiffel scenes:
On the couch, puzzle
On the couch, magazine 1
On the other couch, magazine 2
Looking up, tremors
Vent opening.

Hazmat scenes.
(In my opinion) reaching for the hatch
Explosion
Running from the car
Reaching the house.

I'm guessing Howard brought her in in the white shirt.
All other clothes we see were already there in the shelter.

yea, that's been my assumption.

"oh, here's a shirt that I bought for my dear dead daughter. She loved the Eiffel Tower. See? I put it everywhere for her. You can have some of the beads I bought for her too."

Seriously, why can't people just enjoy the film when it comes out, why are you all trying so hard to figure out the plot to the film. I mean, the "game" (if we can call it that) is a prequel, yet I keep seeing game related spec based on film related spec. That isn't how these things work...

The Slusho! thing...well, much like Stephen King, it could be a subtle way to say that all of his productions are just different dimensional representations of universes, where Slusho exists across all of them to tie them together. It's his Dark Tower, a lynchpin of the multiverse -- made of slushy drink treats. Smile

Wanna know what backs up my theory? He did a WHOLE show about alternate universes. With Slusho! in. Fringe.

There you go. The Cloverfield Universe just has more information regarding Slusho's origin, is all. Very Happy
