We have a clear flotation pants image now.

We still need clearer images of the Mustang Survival tag and the On Deck magazine.

Ummmm.... Yes, it's a Mustang Survival *floatation device.* AKA a PFD or lifevest. Device, not pants. I'm very aware we have the pants. I'm the one that surmised all the original images were photoshopped to add these numbers, begged for a better image of the pants in particular, and gave the poster my eternal gratitude upon posting the image.

And as I said, I think the On Deck picture might already be as clear as we're gonna get. We got it from the projectionist who leaked it, not a camera phone in theatre.

EDIT: I had to go back and search through the posts as google wasn't giving me anything, but it was a post by Catherwood where he enhanced the image here:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1061097#1061097

And now that I'm looking a it, I don't see a 5 there AT ALL anymore.

I think it might be just 742. Which makes a lot of sense otherwise, actually.

Re: The Obligatory Cloverfield Monster "Roar" Comparison

So I was bored, and you know what happens when people are bored, right? Fun things happen!

In an effort to try and put to rest some doubts regarding the roar heard in the trailer and whether or not it was the same familiar roar we know well (and not just some rumors about Howard Stambler having a bad case of cramps), I ripped the audio from the 10 Cloverfield Lane Superbowl Ad and a video with the isolated Cloverfield monster roar from 2010, then isolated the roar in the 10 Cloverfield Lane Ad and put it side to side with the other audio, to make it easier to compare.

Here's the audio: https://www.sendspace.com/file/a31zvu, first roar is the one from the trailer of 10 Cloverfield, the second one is the one in Cloverfield. The only edit I made was normalizing the volume in the first clip with Audacity, because it was lower than usual, so right now they should be about the same level.

It was hard to tell from the waveform for the aforementioned reasons which is why I didn't take screenshots of it, but if you trust your ears, you can tell they're virtually the same roar. Clovie has some other variations in the roar (you can find the full clip below), but the closest one would be the deep resounding one you can also hear in the 10CL trailer, and it follows the same signatures. I wouldn't say this is a red herring, and all along they intended to make this in the same Cloverfield universe and use the same monster or another species of it since the beginning, and considering Tagruato is involved, it's more than obvious now, the roar is just another piece of evidence.

And 'trust my ears' I do, Antares. As my 'better half' puts it oh-so colorfully, I can "...hear a mouse fart in the next room..." - it's an ability that's come in mighty handy, however, re: avoiding trouble, so...

Wink

Many sincere thanks extended to you for doing the side-by-side comparisons, as well as posting the links. No doubt it was a time-consuming process, and your results are much appreciated.

Very Happy

So, based on your own evidence, I don't know how y'all aren't hearing the differences. This isn't a blue&black/white&gold dress situation, either. If you broke it down into notes, the 10CL one is 3 notes to OG roar's 4.

Again, I don't think this will be relevant to the game unless they leave a proper sound file for us to find and analyze, anyway. It's red herring city to litigate it further.

For a good location, we need 14 digits:
--°--'--.-"N --°--'--.-"W

30.6
68
742
0.12
9, -9
We also have 4813 from the trailer.

Without the 4813 we have 13 digits, with them we have 17. Both can't form a 14 digit location.

I've been walking around with the Tommy James and the Shondell song in my head for weeks now, with one line in particular 'There doesn't seem to be anyONE around'... Together with the missing 'pressing of the one' in the trailer, might they be telling us something? Should we remove the ones?

This would leave us 12 or 15 digits. Still 2 too little, or 1 too much. Depending on if we think we also need to use the 4813

We kind of know where to put the 30.6, the 9 and -9 and the 0.12 (or 0.2)

30°6-'--.9"N 90°2-'--.-"W
left: 742, 48(1)3, 68....

My head hurts. I can't figure it out. We need clearer pictures.

What's up Unfiction, glad to finally be a member have been reading and lurking for years but heres my first post. Live in the heart of New Orleans, and am here to make myself useful. If anyone has any co-ordinates they would like me to check out just let me know and I will document everything. We are getting close!

If that 30.6 is right- then latitude would be have to be north of New Orleans. Do you know Covington at all- can you think of any tie in it would have?

Yeah my GodMother actually lives over in Covington so I go there fairly often. Me and another local are planning on meeting up today or tomorrow and checking out a few of the co-ords that have been suggested. We will take pictures and all that and report any findings. We are obviously hoping to discover something but more excited about making new friends thru Cloverfield...that's what ARG's are all about! Getting out of your comfort zone and exploring the unknown. Let me know if you have any specific co-ords you would like us to check out.

Strange thought, just brain storming.... Remember back at all the beginning of this when we has no idea numbers were even going to be so important, and there was a big deal over the fact that although the number on the jukebox said 4813, we only see him punch in "4" "8" and "3" - could this be why maybe? I mean, it's a stretch, but worth a mention i guess?

I think you are right about the 5. It looks like the word below the numbers is COAST- probably Coast Guard. The "5" seems to really be the C.

The more I stare at it the more it looks like 8742 with the 8 being slightly lower than the other numbers. That would give us our missing number.

Wow, finally caught back up. I think. Pixie- please don't yell at me to much if i missed this Sad Random thought while traveling:

What in the bunker would Howard think is the perfect gift for his 13 year old daughter?
He would hardly choose a gold plated snub nose for himself. Not enough fire power.

Or a circle? Like a degree circle? That would make some sense?

It does really looks like a five on a quick glance, I see where people got 5 from, but close up you can see the lines don't connect. I'm not sure what it is. Or if there's anything there at all. The 742 is really clear & obvious, those other squiggles aren't.

*sigh* we just need better resolution images.

I wonder if they'll ever just give them to us? That would be nice.

EDIT on the other hand this is the only solvable puzzle we've had so far. So I mean, I don't want it handed to us. Still, it's frustrating.

I haven't yelled at one one yet, believe me when I do you'll know. I'm wordy, but other than me saying "frak" a whole lot in a post to Gimlet (which wasn't directed at Gimlet, but rather at the PM team who I don't feel are doing a spectacular job) I've had no anger. A trout isn't yelling at someone... And I myself got a very well deserved trout earlier today. Smile

I don't think we are meant to know what he gave Megan, I think it's a dummy question. A way to make it LOOK like that chat would be useable, but it doesn't actually have an answer.

5742 or 742
Playing with pictures

I am still in the belief that the on deck image is 5742, but I can also when staring at the screen and then into space and then into my mind... for a few er..mins ..see a wavy 3 off set...

I have played a bit with contrast, brightness and then lastly embossing the hard lines of the image itself just to see if it would pop out better.

This is not for certain and I don't intend to sway because as you know we might not be doing anything here at all...

It appears like the numbers are at least a set of 4 because the circle around it extends out longer..I think.

I've made myself as nuts as I can on this until clear shots, (hopefully) Digital, come out. Flaming Nutter
