Yeah, the blogger who posted that updated it a few minutes ago to note the change to $100 million. I think he brought up a good point that a lot of people who are reviewing the trailer are missing: Something is up above them, and it's big enough to shake the ceiling and walls and it's probably a monster or THE monster.

I have to say, seeing kosmopol and cloverfieldnews again has me feeling the same buzz from 2008! Welcome back all!

The guy who originally uploaded the handheld "leak" of the trailer last night has this video on his account. All of this other videos are down or have been removed.

If we look at his second channel, we see that he has a video where he goes from Brooklyn, NYC to Austin, TX and during the trip, he stops at an abandoned bunker!!

Video here: https://youtu.be/eN7uRqnwIY4?t=1m45s

What's also worth mentioning is that his production quality is high but the views on his videos aren't that much.

It's possible they leaked this themselves, because yeah, the leaked trailer had crisp quality, that's very uncommon these days. And the trailer went up quickly too within the hours, which means they were already prepared to go through with this. So far there doesn't seem to be an ARG going on, which makes sense since it's a very short timespan, but the trailer does show more than I first assumed so we could gather many pieces from it.

Regarding the budget: even though it was originally reported to be $5mm, that shouldn't make people think it wouldn't have monsters in it, remember Gareth Evans' Monsters, it had a budget of $500.000 and that still had some, however scarce. Another thing is that no movie under 5 million is gonna have an IMAX release, so clearly they bumped it at some point during production to make it work within the Cloverfield banner.

Yeah, I still don't trust any of it though.. I've been looking for clues since early and people been trolling these pages all day.

I don't think the YouTube account/GordonEveryday lead is in game (if there is a game). The account that posted the trailer also posted a Gordon Everyday montage that was uploaded in 2011. Gordon Everyday is a real popular YouTube show, light googling backs this up.

The posting account has multiple other trailers on it as well.

Trailer fun

I love the welcome mat at the top of the stairs, you know, at the entrance of the underground bunker that no one ever leaves or visits Razz

Can't believe I'm back on unforums!

Just talked to a person I know who worked for BR and he said that this definitely wasn't made as a Cloverfield sequel and that they don't think there is an ARG campaign, but they were very clear that they weren't sure and it wasn't their project.

If I'm interpreting JJ's statement correctly (I'm sorry if I'm not), he said that the idea to associate it with Cloverfield came "during production", i.e. it wasn't initially conceived as having anything to do with the original film. I've seen people say that this might be the start of a Cloverfield anthology series, or that you can't trust that it's a Cloverfield movie just because of the title, etc. But the same green sky on the new poster as the old one, the font choice, the secrecy, "some thing is coming" sounding very similar to "some thing has found us", etc. I don't think "Cloverfield" was tossed into the title just for the hell of it. I think it'll end up being a totally new story, but I just can't imagine that it won't have ANYTHING at all to do with the original. Remember the "Super 8" trailer, which everyone and their mother were speculating was "Cloverfield 2" to the point where JJ had to release a statement just to say that it wasn't? At least with 10 Cloverfield Lane he's acknowledging the association, even if it's just a "blood relative". Of course, JJ also said that Clover is dead...

Really, "who knows".

Maguss00 reporting back for duty. This might not have much to do with Cloverfield but I for one am glad to be back, dammit!

Nah, I don't think there is an ARG set up for this, too little time for that... At least not at this very moment. Just pointing out how this trailer was leaked in such a great quality, but maybe the guy has good equipment after all.

And before the poster I thought it would just be tangentially related to Cloverfield, but it has so many things in common, as many others have posted above, that it's difficult not to think of this as a direct sequel. As far as Bad Robot involvement in this, they kept it under wraps (according to JJ himself) while people were working with TFA, so I think it's safe to say no one was expecting this to come out at all and no one was looking for it.

I've been following this forum since Ethan Haas lol. I never made an account back then but I was just amazed at the viral campaign for this movie. I had never seen anything like it. Well anyways after this new one was announced I knew that I had to hop on board this time. So hello everyone! Super excited to be apart of this.

The site is probably pretty old, but... Anyone know any passwords for it?

Also I know they had to release with the Friday film release, but how cool would it have been if this landed on 1-18-2016 instead of the 15th?

As a matter of fact, I do. Password is
Code:
co2

HOWEVER, it's completely unrelated. Sorry.... {i figured i would give the password because some people won't believe "it's not related" unless they can see it themselves. the trailer for that movie is right on the first page after the password splash page. enjoy}
