If memory serves, they have a help line for lost and found pieces. I expect to get my order of Swamp Pop today and can call it once confirmed whether or not I got puzzle pieces as I am in the U.S. Sound good?

It does! I mean everyone had to suspend belief and order Swamp Pop, and oddly, it actually panned out (well sorta, maybe). So I think it's *at least* worth an attempt. Someone actually did try the online help chat and came up empty, but the specific hotline still seems suspicious to me.

I'm fully expecting it to turn up nothing. But it'd be pretty neat if it did.

I also called the number, it is not a specific hotline, it is the companies regular number.

I do recommemd someone calling in regular business hours and talking to someone though and seeing how you go. I called on a weekend and got the voicemail

I called them just now and, after a fairly awkward conversation with the customer service representative, she informed me they have no E. Tower puzzle and I am pretty sure they are OOG. Meaning...back to the old drawing board.

That's basically the response I expected but I feel better knowing it was tried.

Well thank you so much anyways for trying something (admittedly silly) out, just to make sure we've tested every avenue presented to us.

I think the puzzles might be one of those weird situations (that seem to happen occasionally in Args) where it is pure random coincidence the images relate so well to certain elements of what we've been given.

But there's been a couple things on Reddit that have come up that are interesting.

http://planet1051.com/local-soda-swamp-pop-is-all-over-new-cloverfield-trailer-watch/

Sounds like SP has known about the product placement for a year, but may not have known *what* the movie actually was, if it was described as an "indie" movie to them. Curious.

Also:
https://www.reddit.com/r/10cloverfieldlane/comments/42szeq/10_cloverfield_lane_is_not_100_confirmed_for_imax/
And I'm going to add in an appendix to that:
https://www.quora.com/How-much-does-it-cost-to-rent-an-IMAX-camera-per-day-week

It is so prohibitively expensive to shoot in Imax that even the biggest blockbusters often only shoot small, short scenes in Imax format film. Whatever this movie is, it sounds like Imax was not told about it untill recently. And that's kinda incredible. It's incredible they kept a secret like this even from Imax. Even to get the (very expensive, very specialized) equipment and film and processing done Imax would usually be involved somewhere along the line. Definitely before 2 months to premiere. Just for scheduling reasons alone - The schedule at the few dozen true IMAX theatres in the world is set in stone far ahead of time.

I'm thinking maybe JJ used Star Wars TFA as a smokescreen to hide this movies production. Who cares about some indie thriller when STAR WARS is shooting? JJ wants an extra camera and a few thousand extra feet of film for a second unit? Sure. Why not, it's Star Wars. Give him anything he wants. No questions asked.

It also seems increasingly like the whole "5 million budget" rigamarole is just not true. That budget would get devoured whole, just by shooting a few minutes in IMAX.

It may not be clear whether or not we're getting an ARG but there ARE ABSOLUTELY some incredible secrets being kept. And well.

I mean bravo to Bad Robot just for that.

Okay, I've got to intervene here. Not a single second of 10 Cloverfield Lane was shot on IMAX, it was shot on the Red Epic Dragon, which is a digital camera. It's only being released on IMAX, even though that's just a dead giveaway of what kind of spectacle we can expect at some point in the film, the 5 million budget is probably a smokescreen (or dates back when it was supposed to be this self contained indie flick)

Welcome to the Theory-storm! Can you provide the evidence that led to such a conclusion? Inquiring minds want to know, and all that. Laughing

That's possible, it's totally common to upgrade certain films to the Imax format, without shooting in Imax.

Not only that but shooting a tense, bottle, thriller with a very loud IMAX camera would basically not be possible unless you want to loop all the dialogue (one way or another I do think we're getting scenes outside that bunker).

But still, why advertise "in Imax" if Imax has no clue what you're talking about? It's weird. Just like every other thing about this movie.

EDIT: I mean I might as well have called my post "why it's incredibly unlikely this movie was shot in IMAX" - although it's also still possible *a very small part* of it was. If they didn't shoot all of Star Wars in IMAX, they aren't going to shoot this one.
Still weird IMAX doesn't know what's going on.

Well, catherwood pretty much de-bunked this earlier in the thread:

I don't know what is wrong with Google Maps that this is happening, but it isn't being done by SwampPop.

In fact you don't even have to go through Swamp Pop to see this. Go to maps.google.com, zoom in on the same location in Kansas and see the Gary, IN church show up there.

And mayhaps that's what MEW is doing with her phone in the trailer...trying to use Googles 'map app' to find out where in the heck she's being held...?

Surprised

Surprised

She's trying to get a signal for something.

Or she's trying to start a new "dungeon selfie" trend. Laughing

someone mentioned 'Austria'

bouncing between here and reddit -

one user brings up google mapping 4813 which brings them to a location in Austria next to a lake

then they mention lake is apparently home to a monster named 'Lungy'

did a quick search of various terms (monster, lungy + austria) and 2nd on the results was this guy

http://ianjwhistle.blogspot.com/

there is also the Eiffel tower post right before it which threw up a flag for me + if you read the post 'From Anomaly' you'll find some interesting word choices (tin foil hat is securely on lol)::

I'm so sorry. You've just found terrible Canadian poetry. Most of it's like that. I apologize on behalf of my countrymen.

It's a real guy, real site, real links. It's just modern art. Add it to the list of things that unintentionally look like ARG.
