I think right off the bat, given the similarities, when we first saw the trailer a bunch of us could only think of this:

The themes, the structure, the setting, the music - it's just *so* similar in so many ways, it's got to be intentional.

Whether it's homage or something more than that is anyone's guess at this point though.

Absolutely. The hatch, the oldie music, funny games, pretending to make a leisure life inside a shelter - there are so many similarities to Desmonds hatch.

Chat console reminded me on weird Trail chat between the Romulans at the beginning of Star Trek ARG, and that console at Super8 ARG as well.

Communication via trailers is soo Bad Robot, but really actively they did it back to Super8 ARG. (OK, Star Trek ARG had also its hidden hints in trailer)

I just for the day when we're going to get an areal picture of clover's claws and some forest destruction like happened during the ST ARG, the romulan ship landing spot Very Happy

That was really outer world awesome..
