EDIT:

Solved this based on the Some Fine Things, and "ask and you shall receive":

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I guess we have to solve now for what the priest knows - note the title says "remember the verse"

Also, Carina's blog updated and her email is on the side: carinafranklinnauSPLATgmail.com - I assume we shouldn't contact her until Winter tells us to?

I am guessing that Carina may ask for help since winter told us that we will know when to make contact.

You were right Russell, she asked for help.

Franciscan Mission
Greek Wisdom

I sent her an email with my thoughts: there's a mission called San Xavier del Bac Mission that has Franciscan history, near Tucson & the greek word for wisdom is Sophia. So perhaps her mom went to find someone named Sophia who works/visits/something at that Mission. (Or perhaps there's another interpretation all together)

I also sent an email to Carina, though I didn't really know what to tell about the Franciscan mission.

Has someone cracked the pw for the blog post "True Things, Wrong Names"?

Message from Carina:

Quote:
Hey Kelsey!

Whoa, the San Xavier Mission! I totally and completely forgot about that.

My mom has a good friend named Sophia, so I'm going to go see her today and then maybe today or tomorrow I'll head over the San Xavier and poke around. It's not only a HUGE tourist attraction, it's also a working mission and church, so I doubt anyone will notice me.

Come to think of it, we have an old family friend who happens to be a Catholic priest. I may look him up...

More soon!

-Carina

Ok well I could be barking up completely the wrong tree here but if it is ph5 then an example of a substance is coffee.

In my email from Carina she signed off with:

Quote:
Now more coffee for me and then I'm going to write up a Bio lab report.

Hmm actually that was Carina not winter so probably not related.

Shame it wasnt "Tasseography", i had forgotten coffee sediment was used in divination.

Was poking around with the keyed caesar cipher and kinda guessed the solution, but I'm not sure what the correct keyword should've been. Whoops. Anyhow,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
'zrpsfo' was suppose to translate into 'unlock' and I found a page http://hidden.foolschildren.com/unlock.html and trying to solve the puzzle now

ETA: Oh, and about the caesar cipher
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I got the partial solution with shift 5 and using 'thebookofthoth' as a key, but then I noticed, that you get the 'unlock' solution with just the key 'the'. But yeah, I don't know what the actual key was supposed to be Laughing Maybe 'death'?

ETA:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Okay, I solved the puzzle. It says "I have the keys of Hades and of Death". It's from Revelation 1:18.
