Dear Mr. Fox,

I did try to find Ms. Suter again, however with the number of people in town
scattered over a number of hotels in the area made that a bit diificult. By
the time I located the correct one, she had just checked out and driven off.

As far as contacting her, I have checked my handwritten notes. She said she
was from "some Podunk little college out in the middle of Nowhere, here on
my spring break."

<Humor>I have checked the listings for Nowhere City, Alabama but am unable
to locate a Podunk College.

Perhaps you or your collegues have better resources to locate this college.

As you suggest, I do think she meant it to refer to unfortunate coincidences
that sometimes happen after uttering a desire to see something bad happen to
another person. I think the accident with Mr. and Mrs. Williams have lots of
people seeking for information that would prove it was more than just a
senseless accident. I even went and chatted with a Hospice grief couselor
afterward. This community is just so tightly knit, everyone is like family.
The counselor said that was the secons stage, Anger. We want someone to
direct our anger of the loss at, and lets face it, it is hard to be angry at
Bambi. So we make up a story in our mind about what must have really
happened and refuse to let go of it.

Well, I may not have been able to help you with your search Mr. Fox, but you
have given me an idea on another feature for Amboy Monthly. When you see the
one about Hospice care and couseling, you will know that you gave me the
idea!

Sincerely,

Dear Miss Heller,

I was wondering if you have had the chance to follow up on my
suggestion of a second interview with Miss April Suter whom you first
mentioned in your news story "Privacy Group Invades" dated 26 April
2004. As I mentioned in my earlier email, some of the things she
commented on struck me as a little odd, such as the reference to a hit
and run accident. However, further discussion of the mater with some of
my US colleagues has lead to the speculation that she may simply have
been making reference to frivolous law suits rather than trying to
reveal covert information.

In either case I would be curious to know if you thought my suggestion
was worth following a little further.

Kind regards.

Mr Sylvester Fox

hmmm

I swear I see a few hints in here... Am I wrong?

where did we find out April is from Alabama? The relevant quote in the Amboy Monthly was, in part:

Quote:
April Suter, 24, who stopped protesting long enough to sit on the curb with a soda, replied, "But how can we be certain that they don't tap into innocent people's lives?

Is there a humor section at Amboy Monthly?

Typo and capitalization? I don't spec about that anymore

BTW:
Stages of grief in general

Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

I think what Melody was trying to say is that it was only a joke.
She used the <humor> and </humor> tags to tell us where the joke begins and ends Smile

LOL I've used these kind of tags [sarcasm on][sarcasm off] sometimes too Wink
