Yes we are monsters. In many forms.

I recall the Cloverfield days and our MySpace experiences. Many of players, trying to communicate with characters, mentioned things which yet were not happened, like Monster, etc. And waited for reply. Like bad whispers in your paranoid mind. Rabbit in your headlight.

Characters ignored this stuff. They rather wrote comic story with us, chatted about movies etc. They did OOG stuff, since we were IG.
But we had this dangerous knowledge, that most of these characters may be killed some months later during monster assault.

I had a feeling we were ghosts. We knew a lot. We could warn, but it wouldn't be heard. We could pretend to be ordinary persons, and it could help with our communication. But after all we were invisible monsters.

I very hope one day to take part on an ARG /transmedial experience were such Fourth wall could be broken. A metafictional penetration of reality. Where characters might hear us, might be afraid, affected or pleased to communicate with us. With invisible omnipresent Ghosts. Whispering in dreams and neightmares. Day and night. Such Transmedial experience would rock definitely.

Hopefull wink to Bad Robot.


FAILTECH was a fun ARG that did this very well. Then again most people didn't notice FAILTECH...

 		Off topic, but there seriously needs to be more archive & history keeping with these args. I'm kinda starting the ball rolling with my reccomended reading list, but sooo much is getting lost and forgotten and worse: deleted.

I don't want to have to read through an entire forums worth of posts or dig through all of a long dead wiki to figure out what happened. It's sad that once these args end they just seem to die off completely and no one bothers to do a post mortem or just summarize what happened (except for the small handful of big $$$ projects who get lovley NYT profiles).

Anyways, Failtech sounds neat, but I'm having trouble finding an entry point.

Also yeah, a meta post-modernist arg would be cool.

It would be neat to create layers of world building - you could world build something similar to Harry Potter where like muggles are us players and wizards are IG characters. I guess nonchalance was kind of close to that idea? Which I did like an awful lot.

Anyways, I think you can do meta 4th wall breaking well if you have a strong narrative reason for it's existence. You can break all the rules if you have a strong enough narrative.

(Imagine a Deadpool arg, for instance.)

I'm not sure that's what we're going to get here, but I do get the feeling our actions IG might just effect things in the movie.

That would be really cool! A side note: Pixie, if you need help keeping the summary up-to-date in the stickies, I'd be happy to help! When I see people on Facebook or Instagram being directed to the Reddit stickies to catch up on the game, I cry and want to direct them here instead, but I think ours are a bit out of date now. Okay, I still direct them here, but...

Uh. What? Why'd you dig that up. We've kinda moved on.

In the context of the time it happened there was a lot of drama that seemed to make the PMs starting communicating with us through the Instagram. It looks vague now but at the time, in context it was pretty obvious. No tea leaves. Just subtle nudging.

 		i just signed up to this forum right now because i didn't see you guys talking about this...

but did you guys see the commercial of this old man on a farm on a lawn mower... the camera pans up, and you can see like a trail of some sorts on the field... the house looked very familiar, and then zooms out into the mailbox that had the address "10 cloverfield lane" on it...

it was on cartoon network's adult swim... i think i was watching naruto... don't remember, but i can't find it on youtube or anything...

Haven't seen it. Keep looking for it though, sounds interesting.

i lamed it because it was able to pause it and rewind it.. i actually rewound it a couple of times... then went to look for it... i should've recorded it with my phone... i'll keep looking...

Whoa! I want to see this! Maybe it's listed on YouTube under a weird name, like the cinema trailers were.
