Cyan507- Vince Gilligan is my man, haha! But not just the writing but mostly where the camera goes, he is definitely an inspiration. But yeah I took your advice a bit confused at first and then slowly molded the ending to my series so I guess there is something to this reverse engineering Wink

I've asked some of my friends on their opinion of killing off slenderman and all of them are saying to kill him. The problem is that I brought up The Totem's channel, PhantomVoices, and if I did kill slender then I don't think it would be very fair ...or more so make no sense that he's in this other channel.

The Totem...maybe you have an idea??

well think about it, if you're getting into your car and you turn on the ignition, you can't really do anything until you know where you're going. same with a story, you can't start a story unless you know where it ends and where the characters are going. given the characters are the vessels of the story and actually move the plot. I've spoken to some newcomers to the slendervlog area who tried to contest that it's "fun to see where it goes" and "you don't have to know exactly how it ends" except you do. there's no discussion. I'm not saying your ending can't change over time, but really know how it ends. what takes figuring out is how you get there.

Cyan507-Yeah, a week ago I would have completely ignored you because I would of thought that to be a crazy idea but you convinced me...not many people can do that. But I think mentioning Vince G. made me really think about it probably because he's one of the main reasons I'm doing my series in a cinematic approach.

Lumine- Yeah I agree with you for the most part. I don't know what channels you watched with all that cursing, but I can agree that sometimes especially with kids, that they can overdo the cursing. I try to keep cursing at the absolute minimum, and even then I cannot say the F word or God's name in vain...because those are just my morals and I really couldn't even blame acting to get myself to saying it. I don't think swearing is completely bad though, especially when you are trying to make the viewer think that the protagonist's life may be at stake. I think that we all agree that teenagers cuss the most (although my dad may just break that Very Happy)

I think ending on a good tone is sometimes rare to see in the slender series-or completed ones anyhow. But I think that's due to two things. 1.) In reality it is more realistic that endings are bad rather than good. Disney has drilled this through the minds of many Smile Donnie Darko and Memento are two excellent examples of a bad ending, and I mean a bad ending in a great excellent ending (confusing, but I personally like bad endings because they make you reflect and they give a bigger sense of reality)
2.) I think people don't want to kill off the slenderman as that would be one of the only ways to result in a good ending (but there could be many more) and I can respect that because I'm guessing that they always want the story to go on with the Slender still out in the world causing chaos and what not.
Good endings are okay, but they can be overdone. Maybe it's just me, but who wants an ending to be perfect? The protagonist lives, everyone's safe, slendy is gone, and let's carry on with life....it hardly makes sense and almost gives the series wasted reason to ever being existed. For example, Marble Hornets had a somewhat happy-ish ending but it wasn't perfect. Tim seemed like the only one left who was still partially sick and was leaving Jessica to get away from all that happened. And at the end he met with two arrows, much like the movie Castaway, where Tom Hanks was to make a decision to where he may go after all that happened and after all that he lost. (But MH, in some debate, is not totally done).

Copyrights-music

This may help others and it may not. My friend recently asked me about how I got music on my newest video and if I got anything from YouTube to take it down. So I was just wondering if putting music on you-tube on your videos is bad? I do not monetize my videos as I am not looking to make any money off my channel, but I do have the option to change my thumbnails which may lead to some problems.

If anyone can help sort this out it will be gratefully appreciated, thank you!!!!

3 Good ways to avoid a copyright strike:

1. Don't monetize (which you're ahead of)

2. Keep the use of copyrighted music to a 10 second minimum. Anything that goes over sets off Youtube's automated system.

3. Make alterations to a track, TT uses dozens of copyrighted music but remixes and edits them for the Observer and Firebrand videos so it not makes it harder for the system to detect but is also creating something new, which is bound in the rules of Youtube's fair use.
