Sophie's Page [SOLVED] http://www.landau-luckman-lake.com/sophie/
Page has a picture from the Wikipedia.
Below the words "The eyes have it"
A mail message pops up.
Quote:
Subject: You will find what you are looking for here...
15.9994%%%54.938049%%%126.90447%%%32.065%%%12.0107%%%131.293-X%%%55.845-F%%%14.0067%%%127.6%%%88.90585%%%20.1797-N%%%118.71-N
Very early spec is that the numbers have to do with atomic weights and they spell out some phrase: OMnISCeeNTeYeS
[edit 3]
Alaranth suggested "atomic weights of elements? with the minus signs to take out letters in the names/abbreviations?"
Here is a periodic table with atomic weights.
Quote:
15.9994: O
54.938049: Mn
126.90447: I
32.065: S
12.0107: C
131.293 - X: e (Xe - X)
55.845 - F: e (Fe - F)
14.0067: N
127.6: Te
88.90585: Y
20.1791 - N: e (Ne - N)
118.71 - N: S (Sn - N)
[/edit 3]
We're still working on this. We finished. OMnISCeeNTeYeS is correct, if only mispelled.
*2nd Edit: Ok, we got it. www.omniscienteyes.com is registered to Alecia Church through godaddy. Going directly there shows you a directory. http://omniscienteyes.com/newsite.html popped up after a few minutes. This seems to be what we're looking for.
2nd Edit was for clarification and minor fixes.
Btw, I'll polish the actual solve tomorrow at work so be patient if it doesn't totally make sense -- done (this was edit 3)
Another Edit for Clarity: Sophie's page is actually the solve from Mr. Lake's Status Puzzle found here Sorry for any confusion.

Is everyone else getting a prompt for username/password to access the omniscienteyes.com site?

Yes. Do we suspect another puzzle in the works?

If you look at the thread in General, you'll notice that the password stuff popped up last night. While it's possible it could be a puzzle, right now it's probably because the site isn't done yet and they dont want us snooping.

I tend to agree but I'm a little suprised that the PM's lead us down this path only to slam the door in our faces because we solved the sophie puzzle so quickly. Perhaps there is something more to this.
I'm also suprised at the amount of information Stephen Lake gave away to third parties re Ms Church's background and the Book clue. It's almost as if his client wanted us to find the site. Getting paranoid now but could this still be part of the interview process? Are Marcus and his pals testing us again. Is omniscienteyes just TOBI?

I'm pretty sure that the inability to access the site isn't part of the game, but rather a technical glitch Hopefully everything will be restored soon, and the PM's will work it into the story...like put a notice on the site that somebody tried to hack into the site last night and the security system automatically redirected them to a blank template or some such thing.
I also find it interesting that Mr. Lake was helping us, so it could all be a test of our loyalty to Ideltech/TOBI, or he could have just been eager for us to solve it. I have to admit though, it is a bit funny that Mr. Lake was pressuring us to solve the darn puzzle before midnight, and once we do solve it...it isn't quite ready yet Oh, well...the realities of an ARG

couldn't resist ok if I post this, for a moment at least, I will be the latest post in all four of the aware sections: a rare superfecta
anyway....I suggest that it may be a puzzle?
these username/ password things often are.
I agree that SLake would be unlikely to help us... except my idea is he and Marcus want us to be in touch with Ms. Church. (Presumably, Marcus needs spies on the insideof the group Ms. Church leads to help him fight the takeover of Ideltech.) And, the puzzle is the only way they could think of leading us to her without obviously breaching the agreement with the Dept. of Defense. But, Mr. Lake couldn't leave the sophie page on his site for too long or he risked being caught.
Also, he was just leading us to the group, he doesn't control the content of the website we found, Ms. Church does.

Imagine if you will, that you are Ms Church.
All of a sudden your web site's directory gets a bunch of internet hits - might you consider a hacker attack?
What would be your initial defense?
Password protect your website. Duh!
We might need to think more like "this is not a game", since this is what happens in real life. Yes, it might be another puzzle, perhaps in the future.
But what if the purpose of finding her page was to get her email address? Now we can have a few people "get on her good side" and find out who and what she is (and who she is representing in the buyout attempt for Ideltech)?
Just thinking outside the box.

It might be this but;
1. How many hits would suggest a denial-of-service attack more than we produced surely.
2. If you have sensistive information why post it on the web when there are more secure ways of contacting/informing people/clients.
3. Finally, as far as I can tell all that was on the site was an empty flash template as found by colin here ,

I think sometimes we all look for puzzles where none exists
I understand the concept of TINAG but real-life glitches happen, and I believe this to be the case in this situation. Personally, I'm waiting for the website to change or to receive an email from Alecia.

Incidentally, the mail message pop up at http://www.landau-luckman-lake.com/sophie/ now reads:

I'm not sure if this is the same or not, but just in case, when opening the http://www.landau-luckman-lake.com/sophie/ there is something like a puzzle with the words "The eyes have it" below;
There is a popup too (I guess that's what you were talking about) but I'm using Linux at work right now and cant see what the popup is

The thing that looks like a jigsaw - puzzle - sphere - thing is the logo of the wikipedia . The pop up launches an empty mailto window containing the subject heading "You have seen enough...". Hope this helps

The wiki image on the L^3-Sophie page goes by the title "thetableisset.jpg". Do we think this was a clue to the periodic table as used in the solve or something else?
