Interesting.

Let's share all the ideas than come in mind . Here are 3 other links to explore :

So even Walker has no idea what those numbers mean.

The new video is very interesting and gives major clues :

- The Bow-wow theory that language comes from imitation of natural sounds

Dr Walker says he's "curious to see if anyone out there is listening" : my theory is that the Heptapods have found one of the Voyager probes and they certainly try to communicate with sounds or music found on the Golden Record

(by the way, the "titan/centaur" was the rocket that sent Voyager to space...)

-"the pitch, and sounds of music can be use to communicate universaly" : the numbers refer to a tune, a track... perhaps the one he's humming

I just had my google doc updated and now more info to add in Smile Thanks for the links - ohhh on the numbers = sounds/notes/etc. Not going to the Close Encounters of the Third Kind comparison yet...

Is Terminal 7 the reference for the Montana Shell? And Devon UK was another shell location? And last - Are any of the songs on the playlist starting with those notes - you know like a guess this song in 8 notes kinda thing Razz

 		"they" communicate by creating huge 3d circles of dark smokes ; this can be seen in the various trailers and tv spots. This language is named Heptapod.B in the novel

What's interesting, is that Dr Walker "saw" (or dreamt) these circles transforming themselves in cyrillic writings.

 		Do those circles connect to music (and those numbers Dr. Walker was reciting) in some fashion? If so, makes it even cooler one of the primary rabbit holes was an audio recording.... hmmm maybe there was more to that audio recording then the Spectro behind it.

You're right. It looks like there's many "natural sounds" in this recording : waves, animals, rain... just like in the Voyager record. But it's not easy to see if there are different "tracks".
I tried to speed up, slow down, inverse, filter this audio recording, but it leads to nothing relevant.

the aliens had spoken language described as 'fluttering sounds' (Heptapod A) and a separate written language (Heptapod B)
So there must be something to the audio, IMO.

They contain (Louise Banks ?) annotations to identify the different parts, and translations for most of them

We have "Ian", "Louise", "human", "earth" ... and the nicknames of the 2 aliens Wink
