Yeah, I'm having trouble with this one too. But I thought 6 was harder than 7, tbh.

Well, I solved level 5. I solved level 6 too, but not without help.

Seriously though, FUCK level 5. That puzzle was REALLY counter-intuitive. I'm right now the only person on Level 5 status.

Ha! As soon as I saw the member counter go up I had a hunch it was you. Congratz dude.

edit. I'm a little nervous that you say it's counter-intuitive. I feel like my methods for figuring this out will be way off.

Well... the thing is, I think they rated the level 6 puzzle as being harder because it was more involved than the level 5 one. There were more steps that involved different sets of knowledge. But this one was... well, without giving anything away, I'll say it made me research things. I had to learn more than I intiailly knew. Meanwhile, the Level 6 puzzle I knew all the methods and procedures I'd need for it, it was just a matter of putting them together.

Alright, just figured it out. But, yeah, I had to do some research and I got some help from my spouse. Since I didn't do this one totally on my own I guess I won't be signing up for level 5.

Those of you who are members, you gotta come back and tell us that these folks are on the level (no pun intended). Smile

Hint is very subtle if you dont have right cultural/educational background.

Now PM added another hint (Oren Moverman quote):

Which is also very subtle and can even took you further away from solution if you focus too much on author of the quote.

Ill just say that number 154 (it is not a typo'd 54, as some think) signifies very important artwork for English spoken world.

I only saw this after the quote was added (and assumed it had always been there since other levels had quotes too). After a quick examination of the data, and few moments of thought, I made the leap to the correct literary space.

Knowing the traits of the items I was looking at meant that checking a few pieces of information narrowed the search from 154, to under a dozen, to 1 fairly quickly.

I think each of the entry challenges will test a different set of skills - so don't be surprised if a "harder" one is easier than and "easier" one. As always, different people have different strengths and weaknesses... and once you are registered you can try some other challenges (as well as the following lower level registration ones).

I just found this yesterday - level 5, and after many hours last night and a few this morning I'm sure I have it -- or at least most of it.

Sorted out the 154 part, and down to the only part that works out with the code, but now I don't know where to put the code!

It's highly possible it's not 'finished' yet. The last part of the code was gibberish, and I ASSumed it should be entered as 'is', but maybe there is yet another step?

If that is all there is then I just don't know where to find the registration page!

Any hints from here?

Edit to clarify: I have readable text, except the last part which I thought is the key - don't know what to do with it.

Just read how level 7 registration was done on wiki:
http://wiki.gamedetectives.net/index.php?title=LEVELS:Timeline

Basically you need two things
⚫ /url to add after https://levels.your-host.xyz
⚫ Registration Code (case sensitive, format of secure password)

For level 5 both are in same decrypted sentence.

Meanwhile Levels deleted 15 member accounts because they were exploiting undisclosed vulnerability on Register/Edit Profile page.

And posted new video:

The gibbrish is the registration code, assuming you've done the translation correctly. As for the registration page... if you've translated the message, you have everything you need to find the registration page.

I'm sorry I can't tell you anything more, but I've probably said too much already. The registration challenges are meant to be completed individually, as a means of evaluating your skills and abilities. I dont' necessarily like the method they're using, but I'm in the game so I should expect the rules.

Has anyone had any success solving the Twitter challenge? I have noticed some interesting structure in the hex string, but as far as decoding it I've had no luck.

I've solved it. Took a day and a half and a bunch of hints from a friend who is a cryptology buff.

Here's a hint: Hexidecimal isn't the first thing you do to it. It doesn't make much sense just converting it from that string to ascii using hexidecimal conversion. Doesn't the order of characters in the string look very... Odd though? In what substitution cipher would all those sixes be together like that?

Thank You for the confirmation of what I was doing. I did the same as I did last night for the reg page and this morning it worked! Don't know what was up with that, but I have successfully registered.

The whole "case sensitivity" thing can be quite the pain. I'm in! Looking forward to collaborating on these challenges.

I am SO lost on this. ARGH!

I wish I had gotten in on it sooner - maybe level 6 or 7 would have been easier for me : /

Gotta keep going - I still have two days...
