more ideas

A couple of toughts:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
first it might be worth mentionning that Stephen Hawkings "contradicted" Einstein by stipulating that "God not only plays dice with the universe, —He cheats."

It doesn't explain the partial l33t speak, but it might be why the NOT is in brackets

As for the notations on top of each entry:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The greek letters above the few of them are in order (alpha through delta in the Hawkings quote, next two (Espilon & Zeta) above the Dice quote, last (Eta) above Gravity(T) and the last (Theta) above Planck's).

As for the I, i have no clue, looked at the jpg in hex, unless it's stegged, i don't know what to do next...

Btw, thanks a million for finding that russian poem, i spent lots of time trying to translate it... is it me, or were there errors in the transcription found on the puzzle? Maybe it's just that the letters are too small...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
At first some of the letters looked weird, but if you look HERE, it seems that it was simply cropped too far, or made too small or something along those lines....because the ones I thought looked wrong are actually just missing bottoms or side of the letter.

idea

i think i'm staring to understand what we have to do:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

starting with Hawkin's quote, take alpha through delta of it's word (or four letters : what).

Then proceed with Einstein's dice quote, take two letters, in this case, the 1 and 2, or : is.

Next in gravity, take one letter: T.

Next is Planck: should have thought of this earlier, but Planck's constant is called H, take one letter: H

We are left with "What is th" the next letter would be E, but i don't know where to take it from... we are left with the Information Only one.
Unless... D'OH!
For information ONLY.... Wink

Good Job!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Don't even need the E (esp. since there isn't one)

Math again? Arghhhh

Found this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
y = ln x ( = log e x ).

So obviously our #1 is our missing E

Aha!

Tried "living"....lol.....as an extension of the quote as well as going with the previous sentence of the last two solves.

No dice tho.....

Not terribly hard but broken up for those who want a hint at a time:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The brackets in the quote indicate something is missing.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You need a last name

Heh, I clearly need to sleep less. I wake up, and whoosh. Nice job. Smile
But what's going on with the answer compilation? It's not quite making sense at the moment:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
[Begin here.] Berlioz didn't get it. Philosophy is of no help. Perception reveals but our necessarily limited capacity for understanding. Yet I refuse to be a collection of tiny robots - I want to KNOW. I want to know where she is; THAT she IS. But all attempts are futile. e point? Tsoi.....
Wha?

Actually..

You seem to have missed one, here is what we have until now:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
[Begin here.] Berlioz didn't get it. Philosophy is of no help. Perception reveals but our necessarily limited capacity for understanding. Yet I refuse to be a collection of little robots. I want to KNOW above all. i want to know where she is, that she is, but all attempts are futile. What is the point? Tsoi...
(punctuation added)

And as far as the codes go:

город стреляет в ночь дробью
city (town) shoot (fire) in (into) night fraction

Yanka: thanks a lot for this entertainment, i like the way you think!

Justin: glad you're having fun Smile It's fun for me too - so my thanks to you guys!

A sidenote: this is totally trivial, but the iconclass and Sandra Brown were both coincidences. As far as "11D?" - that is in reference to a "3D in 2D" and "4D in 3D" (sorry for being cryptic, but I don't want to spoil all the trivial fun Mr. Green ). The rain thing is completely my own - that little ship is sort of an icon of St. Petersburg, where I am very proud to have been born and raised in. It rains a lot there, so...

Ok, it should be:

The punctuation should be next to the titles (in comments in the source), but I'll have to wait 'till I get home to check.

Again - a round of applause to you guys for solving stuff so fast, and having fun with it.

According to my mom, дробью means tiny little bullets, like pellets or shrapnel. In that context, "with" goes unsaid as part of the word. So town/city shoots at the night with little bullet things.

Also, if anyone was wondering, that phrasing seems to indicate that the town is shooting AT the night, and not during nighttime.

Omnie - your Mom rocks! And - duh - I somehow spaced out on the fact that you must have already had the punctuation. Sorry.

Anyway, I put the next pages up (also - sorry if you guys solve them too fast Rolling Eyes Smile Smile ).
