here is the link to it.

The Translation of the text is Portueguese and comes out too: ""You hear that, Mr. Miles? That is the sound of inevitability..."
Now my guess is she might be refering to Marcus's car blowing up.

I got one too.

Rasputin translated it: ""I'm going to enjoy watching you die, Mr. Joyce.""
And all these quotes come from The Matrix, according to him. Specifically, Agent Smith.

Second e-card. I replied with my own e-card that said, in German:
You know, for a long time, I thought I was in love with you, Alecia. I used to dream about you...
(That's a Matrix quote)
She has replied with this:

Oh, snap! I swoon.

RAMILES,
You have a Yahoo Messenger ID listed in your UF profile right?
Is it the same as the address where the card was sent?
***snip***
Discussion, fine, but this form of instigation is not for these boards.
On a further note I'd like to point out that these e-cards are not (yet) confirmed to be in-game and it would be my guess not to treat them that way for the moment...

Very good point! Anyone can send an e-card claiming to be from any email address. Until we here from Marcus or Melody or Jude (the only confirmed in-game characters that are active and communicating with the Ideltech employees) that they have received a similar notice from Alecia, I agree with Giskard - you cannot consider them real.
It is such a shame that we have so many wannabes out there in the ARG world who like to impersonate characters/websites. Ruins the experience for the rest of us. But that is what hackers and crackers and virus makers, and gang bangers and such like to do, ruin the fun for the law-abiding folks.

alecia? Kona I missed something in your post about the characters confirmed to be in-game, active and in touch with Ideltech employees?
what about
Elias Grodin: confirmed employee? not active?
Sandy Martin: confirmed employee? not active?
and Alecia Church is definitely in-game, active and communicating with Ideltech employees. What did I miss?
For my two cents, these sound like Alecia to me but may not be clues to anything.
Aren't those two lines in the same scene of the Matrix
"You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability..."
"I'm going to enjoy watching you die, Mr. Anderson."

I just am more skeptical and my mode of play is to be the sounding board and give opposing points of view - opening up discussion to more than one possibility.
If Marcus confirms an employee, then that person exists in the AWARE universe. However, if there is a communication from a person in the AWARE universe that is easily counterfitted (i.e. e-cards) then we are going to have to take it as suspect until there is a way to have confirmation from the PMs (within the realm of the AWARE universe) since ARGs are becoming fodder for horses a$$es who get their kicks from messing around with the game. Metacortechs resorted to a label on their websites since so many copycats were sprining up. In an ARG that is relying on chat and emails, there are other opportunities for copycats and fakes (heck, even one of their own characters went renagade and started creating their own stuff against the storyline established by the PM).
So, the other employees exist in the universe, but contact has been limited and perhaps they are being set up as background for the real game that was slated to start in June (if that is still the case?).
ARGs that rely heavily on character/player interaction have a huge potential for changing the original storyline. When rogue players get involved and work against the group playing along with the original game, they can influence the story, or the PM can ignore it (in CTW we had such a rogue and the instructions from the PM was to ignore it - the topic was dropped and the problem ceased, didn't affect the storyline).
We need a name for this type of player - the person who purposefully invades a game and seeks out means to distract players. Dia, oh ghoddess of verbage????

Matrix: the data miner Could this be relevant? The data mining program known as the Matrix is the subject of privacy lawsuits that raise similar concerns as those discussed by Melody in her editorials. (data mining, 1984)
It is used by state, rather than federal law enforcement.

I second Troll. They are common enough everywhere else, and known for being generally disruptive.

No, this is in-game. How do I know? Because I sent two e-cards to Alecia and got two in response.

I think that the MATRIX software could be the software that is used by OE.
But how does this help us?
Is there something on the OE or L3 sites about it?
