and what scares me is that i recognized many of the graphics from my past (or sometimes present) life.

Don't worry about it - as well-read kids, my friend and I had a whole plethora of words to which we knew the definitions but usually ended up pronouncing completely wrong.

She would pronounce "infrared" as "in-FRAYERED". I would pronounce "misled" as "MEYES-ulld".

And until my mother was 18, my grandfather had her convinced that you pronounce "gnome" as "guh-NOM-ee".
