Bit and pieces of a conversation with MS Church.

Ms Church: Yes that is true. And they are not handling things very well. That would scare me. Having such unstable bosses who go off to lick their wounds is not a good thing. What if something happens once they open their doors? Do you really think they will stick around to solve any problems they may encounter?
Greyelf: It is true that they have made a number of mistakes in handling things, but Im not sure that this is unque to their company
Greyelf: But some of their problems have been caused by outsiders
Ms Church: According to Marcus's blog, one problem was Sandy. She is not an outsider.
Greyelf: But was her motivation her own, or suggested from an outsider
Ms Church: I would say her own ultimately.
Ms Church: Suggestion or not, she did not have to do it.
Greyelf: Some outsiders like your self can be very persuasive
Ms Church: True. What can I persuade you with?

Greyelf: Also your methods of control may be a bit in the extrem side for my liking. ie. The whole exploding of Marcus's car bit.
Ms Church: I can see your point. As for my methods, sometimes it has to be done. That does not mean I like it. It is for the greater good.
Ms Church: Would you not protect something that you believed in, no matter the cost? If it meant protecting your family?
Greyelf: It would depend on a case by case bases, if the threat was real or just a posibility, what the total cost would be.
Ms Church: Exactly. That is what I decide everyday. Case by case. Some warrant such harsh reactions, others do not.

Ms Church: Well said. And who's to say that Tobi would stop at Americans?
Ms Church: He did hack into the Croatian government.
Greyelf: True, but at the direction of his creaters
Ms Church: Yes, but Tobi is doing things without the help of its creators.
Ms Church: You could be next.
Ms Church: And Ideltech would just give the information to the DOD and the DOD would pass it on to your government. Then your out of luck.
Greyelf: Then you are entering into the whole 'Is tobi becoming alive' problem, do we have the right to control it, if it is so. We have the right to ask tobi not to do certain things, we would have the resonsibility to teach him right from wrong.
Ms Church: Yes. I will do that when I have it. I will not rush to get it operational like Ideltech. I will make sure it is safe to use. Ideltech was not careful.
Greyelf: But whos to say that you, as a secet org., would teach tobi the values he/she would need to learn, the same values we teach our kids?

Ms Church: Why do you think I want Tobi? To teach it correctly. To not search for anything and everything. To only search for specific things. To contain it. And give it "morals and values".
Greyelf: But if tobi is not becoming self-aware, and is only another bit of software to be used to gather data, it comes back to the ownership and usage of theat data
Ms Church: Yes, usage of the data. I will use it wisely. Unlike Ideltech. Who will not monitor what Tobi finds.
Greyelf: But whos idea of morals and values? Whos idea of correctly? Can you show me how a 200 year old secret org. can be trusted with raising new life?

Ms Church: What if you were researching information on a bomb for a game.
Ms Church: Ideltech's Tobi would give it to the DOD. OE's Tobi, on the other hand,
Ms Church: would research it the information. Ideltech's Tobi would not know it was for a game. It would assume that you are going to blow up the White House.
Ms Church: My company would dig. Not assume, not jump to conclusions.
Greyelf: Ok, what if Tobi found out that one of the people you supply information too, had used that information in a way that ws wrong and costed the people of the US 1 Million dollars, would you inform the general public?
Ms Church: Yes.
Greyelf: So the fact that the public would learn who supplied the information in the first place and through that the means it was gathered would not change your answer?
Ms Church: I may not say where I got the information from, unless it was absolutely necessary. But I would still tell the world.
Greyelf: So you state that 'unless it was absolutely necessary', then if that is the length that you are willing to go to supply the truth to people, why obtain / keep TOBI in secret in the first place?
Ms Church: Supplying the truth to people and supplying how I got the truth is a fine line. Tobi will never really be kept a secret. People will talk. Will I deny it, no. Will I announce it, no. Again, it depends on the situation.
Ms Church: I will not rush into giving out any information, unlike Ideltech. I will choose carefully.
Ms Church: I think you have a lot to think about. I have enjoyed our conversation. I need to go and take care of some things. You know how to reach me.

 		It seems Alecia is not only learning restraint, she's also learning how to talk to people. Which kinda sux because I was dying to bait her. Unfortunately even the little baiting I did met with no real results. I'm almost wondering if somebody didn't warn her that I was a sarcastic smartass who had nothing but contempt for her. Wink

Mine was on Intellim. I haven't seen references to any YIM or AIM handles for Alecia.
