Code to talk to Marcus?

Marcus posted this on IU in the general section, under the name Thespian.

I need to figure somthing out and fast. This airport computer won't let me log in to this.

Take this behind closed doors, and analyze it.

The sum of each number is two letters

I copied this over from Updates. If it shouldn't be in both places feel free to delete. I wasn't sure, it is kinda both.

Causes of Death

Strange that the news article doesn't list a cause of death for Jude. Of course, saying that Marty is
Quote:
presumed dead
would imply that they have yet to recover his body from the river. If/when they do, it will be interesting to learn what the cause of death for Marty was.

I don't know why Melody left it out, it's all in her notes. Seems odd to be sure.

Not sure about the directions, but if you try to find sums that add to the number, and map to the alphabet you can get something like:

Common Hate Need......
Common Deep Need.....

Not that it means anything to me, or that following different directions would actually net anything sound. Just fiddling.

Very Happy

Current spec in chat is that the answer will be an IRC channel with "#18,26,29,9" being the channel and "21,19,9" being the password.

but the only thing that I have come up with using this method for a chat channel and password is...

#COMMONED PEARED which makes no sense at all

Although that's the better I could come up with too, it should be with double 't', right?

And for the password, better I got is "a trade" (yeah, I know, without blank space :p)

"Commited" is the best I've found, too, but I don't like the idea that the puzzle contains a typo.

Conceivably, if we build up enough options, we could test them out tomorrow and see if we can find Marcus in any of them.
