And you believe the template class was written by one of these? I think that's quite an integral class really
No, but alot of people will dig around and change things in the files because it's easy to (not that I'm saying this is what happend at IU). I mean I've changed a bunch of stuff in mine and I have no clue what I'm doing. I usually figure it looks enough like C/C++ that I should be able to figure it out.... which usually ends up with me having some sort of error that takes me twice as long to go back and fix.

Well the problem appears to have changed now to a 404 error. Let's hope they backup the database and reinstall (better back it up!)

Both Marcus and The Creator confirm DoS attacks

The first question to always ask when pondering a DOS attack is: What possible reason would someone have to launch such an assault?
Its totally possible, IMO, that these problems might just be in-game. You ask who would launch such an assault....well, if either OE or the Restorers have set up an alternate means of communicating, by crippling the IU boards, they could pretty much grind everyone else to a halt.....

I'm gonna doubt it's ingame if this is causing so much annoyance to everyone and TheCreator has commented.

It looks like there is some work being done. You can now see the folder tree which has been changing throughout the last 20 mins... there is now an install folder which says to me this is being worked on!!

Interesting thought about Tobi. It does kind of make me wonder whether the failure is in-game. You probably noticed that it's running out of the home dir of one "koonzee" which smells a little like "Kunze", Melody's Uncle's name.

Oh, I forgot to comment on this. I thought that in the past we looked in to this and Richerd Kunze is indeed Melody's uncle, who is also the local Amboy hosting-provider for all websites we've seen so far. I even think that the appearance of 'koonzee' might be a way for us to check if a site is in-game or not. His mailaddress is koonzeeSPLAT hotmail.com btw.

It looks like the problems are out-of-game. I also agree with the idea that it is more a coding bug than a DoS effect. Maybe due to the attempt to have different categories available for different users (hiding Ideltech unless you log in with an Ideltech ID). I think this causes the indexes to be confused.
"Kunze" I think is just the PMs having fun. Aware sites run out of the home dir of "Koonzee". For fun, try this:
http://www.immersionunlimited.com/~koonzee/
Same computer runs both sites. And notice that ruaware doesn't seem to have the problem.

Yep, pass protected from an hour ago or so.
It seems it may take more than expected to fix it
