And just reading through everything this is what I think is happening or who this is.

From the Corrupted Image Text on the wiki which was rearranged in the (possibly?) correct order into a metaphoric story.

The "Mayday Text" sounds very alike a first person account of the Corrupted Image Text Story?

The only mistakes taken from all the text I can find (HINT????) AI Artificial intelligence..

The Queen from story and the first person account text "Mayday Text" Are one in the Same. Most ships are referred to in a female tenace, The reference in the "Mayday Text" to the stars, celestial navigation, sailing, etc all add up to a space ship with AI. (think Andromeda - TV Series)

Obviously from the Story and the "Mayday Text" She (queen) was in a major battle, or involved in an accident leaving her seriously injured with all hands aboard lost to the incident.

The widow representing someone trying to bring back the ship and repair her.

The Computer code (Another hint of AI) taken from http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4644

To me suggest that computer program is in a very critical shape, And trying to repair itself, maybe the countdown is the time till it heals itself.

Anyway I have been pondering and reading for 2 hours @ work... time to go home and do the same more later, I just wanted to get this down before I leave.

This describes, to a T, much of what happened in the original Marathon games. The AI of the UESC Marathon was named Leela. She was your guide for the first Marathon game. Betrayed by the rogue AI Durandal in the downtime between Marathon 1 and 2, Leela was captured by the Pfhor and disassembled for study. In passing you learn that it drove her insane, but her ultimate fate was never revealed.

 		More Leela information, straight from Marathon's Story.

"While Tau Ceti was being nuked down to bedrock in 2794, Pfhor scientists disassembled and removed the AI Leela from the Marathon, loading her aboard a vessel bound for the Pfhor homeworld. But the ship fell into the hands of a Nar privateer between jumps at Beta Naxos, and was never seen by the Pfhor again.

Thinking the cargo little more than scrap, the Nar captain sold the Pfhor ship, Leela and all, to a Vylae merchant. The subsequent crash of the Vylae FTL network when Leela was reassembled and reactivated is still legendary in the annals of rampancy, and the Vylae have long since accepted that they will never expunge her from their fifteen-world network."[/url]
