Actually, it wasn't much time because others hbo had started it. And, I'm not looking for (that number of possibilities you posted). I'm looking only for phrases and/or words appropriate to Bungie/Halo/games. And I fully admit that I might be wasting my time Smile.

I think I've already acknowledged that this is one of countless solutions, that it is a single solution, and only that it is intriguing. And yes, if it makes you happy, possibly pointless. Don't get the vitriol at all, sorry.
Thanks,
sss

ibshimo2: Sorry, it wasn't directed at you, and I didn't mean to be snippy. I was sick of staring at the encrypted text and wanted to take a break, and thought I could possibly convince people that this is a dead end.

Koikoi,
No problem. It might very well be a big dead end. And, like I said, even as it stands, there are some problems with the anagram.
thanks,
sss

There are lots of websites, but many of them have word limits. Try downloading the free trail of anagram genius. It's a pretty good software, but the trial only gives you a few tries. You can even specify that you want certain words included, like halo or cd. I'd do it and post the list of anagrams, but my free trial is up Wink

Sure, there might be 2 million combinations...but with a site thats SCREAMS halo 2, that that narrows it down to 500,000

Then again, that internet address is obviously a mistake, i mean, why would anyone put THAT into an ad...and coincedently, ALSO have an anagram that talks about a single player demo release?

Yep, totaly unlikely.

This is exactly wrong. Anagrams get tougher as you add letters, not easier. The problem isn't being able to pick words out of a pile of letters, its being able to say something meaningful with what's left over.

Suppose I had every letter in the alphabet plus a few extras, and pointed out I could arrange them to say: "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog". You would say "oh yeah, well I can spell 'cat', so you're wrong!" Pure genius.

Why don't you shining stars of the internet world try doing something with the anagram instead of dismissing it?

I believe Samari's point was this: If I select three letters at random, they are fairly unlikely to anagram into anything meaningful. If, on the other hand, I select 303 letters at random, the odds are pretty good that I can make them into some sort of sensible sentence or phrase, even though I selected them randomly and they were not intended to be an anagram of anything. Thus, large groups of letters are easier to form into coincidental anagrams, which means that the ability to anagram a large group of letters is less meaningful.

His point is wrong. It is easier to create 1 meaningful phrase out of lots of letters, but it gets harder to have everything make sense as you add letters. Unless of course "MRS. PURRIV" makes sense to you ...
