[META/SPEC] Am I the only one who worries about the axons?

Prolly a trout, but oh well. All the searches I did spat out 300,000 findings, and I don't have the energy to sort through 'em all.

Let's assume, for a moment, that all 777 in the progress bar are axons to unlock.

When the 24th hit, there were 4.5 tons of people trying to hit axons. With the new ones, I highly doubt there's as much drive.

Part of me thinks Bungie knows this, so there's no way that they are going to simply spit out 777 small wave files, and attempt to get enough people to do them all.

For the sake of my poor math skills, let's say 1,000 people went Axon hunting on the 24th.

After a second set, the 1/4th of those people are done. 750 left. Third set? 563. Forth? 423. 318. 239. 180. 135. 102. 77. 58. 44. 33. 25. 19.

After X many sets (and X many wishes I knew math enough to have done this out without Google), there's less than 20 people working on it.

Do you think all the Axons will have to be activiated to progress?

Obviously they don't.

We got four new files to unlock, and located in areas with fair concentrations of beekeepers, without going seven for seven... for seven... on the links page.

I believe the game will move forward regardless of how many Axons go hot or how many files we unlock with them. Some how, I just know it.

What I don't know is what effect the number of Axons that are, or are not, activated will have on the outcome.

That's not to say I don't think it's important to activate as many Axons as we can. I think we should.

You're not the only one. The thread "[Question] Visiting Axons: Hot/Not-Hot: Keep going?" isn't the only place where folks are discussing it -- there are at least two others -- but it's probably the best place to continue.

I worry that there's still another 400+ axons to do and until they're done they'll be nothing for me to do...
