The Enkidu story is a piece of fan fiction that came out around the beginning of the year. (Note that it is hosted on bungie.org, which is a fan site, and not bungie.com) The Enkidu story was very well done, blending elements of Marathon (the terminal design, for instance) with the Halo universe, and an appropriate amount of mythological references thrown in to boot. Many fans were hoping these were the new Cortona Letters, and were a bit let down when the author revealed himself as just another fan.

Interestingly, I note that said fan has just registered on these forums.

Hello, Mr. Anton P. Nym! Wink

Uh, hi. Embarassed

Yup, that was me. (Hence my avatar.) Everything about what I was aiming for and why I wrote that is here: http://enkidu.bungie.org/enkidu_after.html
http://forums.bungie.org/halo/archive14.pl?read=428062

The irony is twofold; firstly, that I made it because there was no sign of Bungie doing this again for those of us who joined their fandom too late for the Cortana Letters, and secondly that the fans in toto don't seem to have learned much from their previous experience. *sigh* It was supposed to be a training ground... oh well. Some folks seem to have carried away the lessons with them. Let's see them put to good use.

Note that the references in the Terminals were all supposed to be as close to canon as I could get without reading the Halo Bible; I can't promise that they're perfect, though. Reading them should do no harm, and would do my ego much good.

Now, let's get cracking on the new puzzle shall we?

The group that did the Beast is supposed to have been working on a new game nicknamed the hive. Get it? Hive, bees...

This is important. Where did you get this info?

Actually, the group that created the Beast was called the Hive and a sequel to the Beast has been long speculated. This is not new information.

Search is your friend.

As much as flames might have been necessary there, you got to go easy on some people. I have read maybe 10 hours worth of info on this new ARG (btw, I have never even heard of an ARG until yesterday and I am totally intrigued) and honestly I can not do a search on EVERYTHING. Just because the people who did the Beast were called the Hive, that doesn't have anything to do with a new game called the Hive, which is what I was replying to in my above post.

If you want new blood in ARGs, which I assume you do b/c that is how online stuff like this grows, then be easy on people.

Anyways, so is there a new game coming out called the Hive? If so that might have a correlation to the August 24th Issue of EGM that is supposed to be topsecret and break the news on a GAME that everyone is gonna wanna play. Seems to have some significance. I just want to know where the info (and I just searched for it, this is an edit) is that Para got regarding a new game called the Hive.

ObiFett, don't get all in a twist. Aveena was answering your question. And telling you that if you searched you might have found the old references to it. The Beast PMs = the Hive reference discussed above. That's what we know. It was the code name for the project many of the PMs moved on to.
