I would gently suggest that perhaps we won't need to be playing characters at all. Smile

I don't really consider myself to be roleplaying as much just not telling the truth in hopes of wiggling out with some important info.

Yeah, I'm regretting that. Seemed like a good idea at the time...hopefully I won't have to take it too far.

i agree, we don't need to back ourselves into any corners. however, i feel that playing with the truth is quite okay and not necessarily roleplaying. don't we all tell little white lies now and then to get what we need in real life?

this is more of a meta-question, so i'll stop there. unfiction's threads are long enough as it is! just wanted to quickly defend myself in case i was one of the 'rest of you'. Smile

Well, for one thing, people should stop lying in the future, because it gets them backed into corners.

As for the corners we've already backed into, here's some ideas:

Emer: send jc a picture of a friend who doesn't mind having their picture sent. Inform your friend of what is happening, and hope that jc doesn't pursue this further.

Todd: tell him that you -aren't- a journalist. he just thinks you are. and refer him to the ingame sites that mention a connection between DH and CMH.

The rest of you: STOP lying yourself into corners!

Recall that "this is not a game". Unless you have a detailed history and background for whatever character you wish to play, and can back up everything you say, I would steer away from roleplaying.

Hope my suggestions help!

I haven't received any reply yet, but I was mostly truthful in my letter to the webmaster (the missing person is the stretched part):

Quote:
I am a big fan of reality tv (you can see many of my posting comments in a couple of the online forums such as tvclubhouse
[http://tvclubhouse.bomis.com/cgi-bin/forum/discus.cgi] and
televisionwithoutpity [http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?act=idx]). I was so excited to hear about this new reality show "Urban Hunt" and signed up immediately for the Online Advisor spots (with plans to submit a video to be an actual contestant). Until I started researching the production company a little further and subsequently found your
website.

Now I'm a bit worried....and your information sparked a memory - one
of the regular posters at these online forums 'announced' that she was
casted on a reality show and would be 'afk' (away from keyboard) for
about three months. Of course, all of us were so excited for her and
expected to see her on some show giving us a shoutout or some other
onscreen acknowledgement....but after three months she still didn't
post. We sent PM's (private messages) to her account but there was no
response. I just tried it again and the PM bounced that it wasn't a
valid address (i.e. her account seems to have expired).

I don't know her real name, and we have no idea if Dread House was the
show for which she was casted, but I was wondering if you have a cast
list? Maybe there is a way we can cross check and figure out if she
was part of this program.

Meanwhile, I'm a bit nervous about submitting my application to be a
contestant if this is the same production company. I'm sorry that they
appear to have been harrassing you. There are ways to post items on
the internet with hidden links. I have some friends that are good at
hiding stuff online; maybe they can help you as well.
