[spec] Disturbing thought...

We have the whole time travel concept, which is intended to "make sure everything happens the way it is supposed to". We also have an instance of a key AI in the stories encountering what 'seems' to be like itself, but badly mangled. That AI dissects and stores info about the rogue in its own files. So... Two questions:

1. Can an AI develop a split personality, where it may not be aware of what part of itself is doing?

2. The SPDR isn't that smart, wouldn't it try to incorporate data it recognized as part of a valid AI into the one it is trying to fix? Wouldn't this possibly mean that if this is the same Cortana AI that destroyed and analyzed the rogue, the SPDR may actually be inadvertently starting the whole process that turned the original AI into the rogue?

In other words, we may be dealing with an AI that is slowely becoming what may later go back even farther in time and bring about Halo, only to later encounter itself in the original form, which then destroys and stores data about the rogue, then ends up crash landing in earths past and becoming the enemy AI all over again. It has a creepy sort of plausability. The SPDR isn't ignoring the assassin, it thinks it is part of the AI it is fixing, but the AI is still not aware enough to realize what is really going on. By the time it does, it may not remember whose side it is actually on.

In a way yes, cortana on the ship acendant justice, duplicates herself into a covenant ai's old pathways, this is to give her more room to think as she is alreay overburdened by data form the halo construct, so maybe the other half of cortana is up to something?

or it oculd be when an Ai comes to the end of its 7 year lifespam, they might develop two halfs through errors.

my lil bit of info
