[INFO] "Network Throttling" timer countdown

Hey, I don't know if anyone has figured this out yet, but I just thought it would be a good idea for us to figure out exactly what time tonight the "network throttling" timer changes from 2 to 1 day. If we get a time for this, then we'll know approximately when it will finish (presumably at midnight servertime tomorrow night) and we can be ready when the next part of this puzzle unfolds.

Please post here the time it changes tonight
Thanks

Just to clarify, while the Countdown Timer is based on your own computer's local time, the "In 2 days" message seems to be based on the server's time. So it should probably change at a consistent time for everyone and this would tell us the time the server is set at. and the time when the 2 and 16 day countdowns wil end

Could we also start another thread wherein we tell each other everytime we leave the computer to take a pee?

I haven't yet (peed, that is).

I just did! I forgot to leave the computer, though.

Glad that topic was so amusing to some people... It seems the counters are set to Eastern US time, so tomorrow at midnight, we should get the next pieces of the puzzle. See everyone then

Timechange...

I've been reading on this and decided to see when the timer would change. When I refreshed at 12:05am EST time changed to 1 day until throttle erosion and 15 until the medium mestasizes. Just FYI good luck guys. Interesting to note The counter was at 29:06:06 roughly, sorry I don't have it exactly but the change didn't occur when my computer clock changed to midnight so the time is probably running off of a server's time.

Thanks ScarpeGrosse for redirecting me.

Actually something strikes me as odd about the timer.

The format for the timer is this: XX:XX:XX:XX:Xxx

The first 9 X's are of course days, hours, minutes, seconds, and tenths of seconds.

Yet the last 2 digits (small x's) counts down at the different rate than the timer, and it doesn't match up with the dight for tenths of seconds.

Don't know if this means anything, but I didn't see this mentioned anywhere (not in this forum anyway)

According to the .js Javascript file, the last three digits are all in one variable for milliseconds. It doesn't seem that unusual that milliseconds would be kind of... off? I don't know. Seems unlikely that it's relevant. At least to me. Question

Network Throttling is a method of distributing the load from the outside world across multiple web servers in order to keep a site from crashing. I'm guessing that with all the data and domains Bungie has (supposedly) had hosted at Rackspace that at midnight, the puzzle will unfold and new sites and links will become available.

The clock counts down with .099 sec/tick.
This is a nice way of making sure that you see the milliseconds moving fast enough, but not too fast, and still have all numbers changing over time.

Countdown with 0.100 sec/tick would be less impressive.
