Push, NV, Puppetmaster Chat on Sunday, December 1, 2002

ARGN and Unfiction.com will be hosting a chat with Push, NV, consulting producer and "Push Puzzle Kingpin" Doug TenNapel on Sunday, December 1, 2002, at 5:00 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. EST). Join us live as we grill Mr. TenNapel on all behind-the-scenes aspects of the Push campaign.

Before working on Push, NV, Doug TenNapel got his start in television as an animator for the cartoon version of "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes." Later, he got into video games and created both the "Earthworm Jim" game and subsequent television show. His upcoming TV effort, entitled "Gear," is based on his graphic novel of the same name, published by Fireman Press. Mr. TenNapel has dozens of comic book, video game, animation, and television credits, and he also wrote, directed, and played a part in the 2000 movie Mothman.

The chat will be held in #unfiction on the Chat-Solutions network (irc.chat-solutions.org). Please try to arrive a little early. This will be a moderated chat. Chat and question guidelines will be posted shortly. Check back here or in our Rumors section for more details as they become available.

Hmmm, what's with the mystery post, Mr. TenNapel?

Hey, folkses, can we come up with some questions in advance for Mr. TenNapel to mull over?

Like were they freaked when Steve found the first pushtimes.com site before the ads started running on tv?

I have two questions.

1. Did the ultimate solve change when the show got cancelled or was VONGILNAIL and the final clue always the intended result?

2. As far as the web side of the game is concerned, what would you have done differently given the chance to do it over?

So, why are we posting questions? I thought folks were just going to ask them at the chat??

To be fair, I did tell a few people who won't be able to make it to the chat that they could post questions here instead and we'd do our best to see them asked. However, it does make more sense to save them for the actual chat if you're going to be there. Wink

/me will, as usual, be out of town Crying or Very sad

Were there any specific events that changed or altered the course of the game? (excluding cancellation, of course)

From the PM's point of view, what was the most memorable event of the show/game?

*sigh* back to work Confused

Just in case I can't make it, I want to know if the 47s were intentional (or just...ahem...coincidental like they are on Alias).

Hi, Doug.

The one big thing I'd like to know, please:

Is Mark Nakamoto "The Runner?"

In other words has the game become a matter
of determining where Mr. Nakamoto is located
and figuring out how to "capture" him
and how to present proof of his "capture?"

Such as sending a photo of him and/or his location
the way it is done in the game "Node Runner?"

Because we, the audience, have seen no living breathing
proof of his existence, so I, for one, would like to know if
the game is still afoot.

Thank you.

Hi again, Doug.

I have a slew of questions.
Don't know how many of them are in your scope...
but here's a couple more
just in case I can't get on to ask in person this evening:

Baseball questions:

Did the number 10623 refer to the date
of Ernie Padgett’s unassisted triple play on 10/6/23
and if so, was it a point of reference of some kind?

Were the characters using baseball gestures
to signal information to the audience?
Because I think I could see them,
but couldn’t put together the system...

Also, I think I also recognized some ASL
and some finger-spelling...
Am I out in left field with these questions? Laughing
