[Meta] Problems Viewing Sites

Allright.

I have tried viewing UH, TT, and DH from different computers on different networks using different browsers.

Those three sites always get a DNS error.

Scrappy speced it was flash troubles, but Storm sent me the swf file for TT and it worked fine; also I watch flash movies all the time.

I've tried clearing out my temp folder, cookies, cache, running adaware, restarting, and -then- checking.

Still no dice.

Sad

Help!

I've tried most of the above for dreamprojector with no luck. I've tried viewing it with my adblocker disabled, too. I am able to open it in netscape, but my netscape is java-impaired, so I have to cut an paste the urls of the movies to IE to watch them. Can't get the site to work at all in Mozilla. Any suggestions?

DNS Errors are not usually flash related. It's possible your ISP has the name cached incorrectly in their nameservers which will fix itself over time. Anyone know how to force a nameserver to reread the DNS from the client?

If your running windows, click on

Start > Run...

Type cmd
Click Ok
at the prompt that comes up type ping IPADDRESS

Replace IPADDRESS with one of the IP addresses listed in above post.

UH Ping stats:

4 packets sent.
0 recieved.
100% loss.

This can't be good.

What do you have set as your DNS server? It sounds to me like whatever you're using has a glitch accessing those sites. Some that have worked for me in the past are:
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2

Try replacing your DNS server entries with those and see if you're still getting the problem.

Where would I set my DNS servers? It doesn't seem to be in "internet options".

Well, the exceedingly lovely Addle walked me through several attempts to solve my problem, but nothing worked.

So here's a request:

Could someone please please please mirror those three sites? Please?

Well, it seems that the powers that be have enabled me to view all the sites properly!

Weird. I hope it lasts!
