It's a Naval Intelligence AI. As angry as it may be, its first directive is to gather information, and even if it DOES harbor a personal grudge against Dana, it'll eventually realise that she is an innocent, and that IT is stuck very far from home.

I'm not as confident as you are. For one thing, the Operator specifically cursed its inability to control SPDR, stating that its first priority should be to kill the Assassin (Dana) before restoring other functions. For another thing, the Operator considered and specifically rejected the possibility that Dana's interference with her reconstruction might be innocent: "The Spider warning's been deployed. She had every warning that a classified medium was under repair. She just kept purging. Too bad for her."

Animated GIF sequence

Could someone redo it here and on the Wiki please with killer10.jpg being the non-corrupt image, rather than the garbled one? much obliged.

That's a GOOD thing, though. SPDR is keeping The Operator 'pinned down' so to speak, until it's thinking straight again. Right now it's irrational and still half-broken.

Great, I love that animated gif. I knew something was wrong with mine but I was at work and I couldn't find a good way to get it to flow.

Now that we know the proper order, I think the next step is to put the Q & As together in that order and look for hidden messages there... I am horrible at anagrams and whatnot though, so I think someone else might be better suited for this. There are lots of seemingly randomly capitalized words though, so that might be a place to start.

The other thing that someone needs to do is e-mail Dana and show her this image sequence and ask her for her version of events. I don't have a dialogue established with her yet, so I don't think I should be the one in charge of this either as she seems to not be answering many e-mails anymore. Is there anyone reading who is "friends" with her and could assist in this manner?

Dana,

I've been reading on some of the text as to what happened, after making my far-too-rushed reply, and did not realize the events were that severe. I need to talk to you- this could be critically important to your fate. You may not be safe. I have an MSN Messenger account set up at steelejmSPLAThotmail.com, if you have one as well. It would be more helpful than email, but if you can't use it, my email is the same.

My last email was important, I said- if so, this one is critical.

Prof Steele is player-created. Not in-game.

Some wild speculation on this bit:

Quote:

I have been attempting to put the dungeon to splendor. You have sent out

a cute kitty
varrao mites
clockcase
the mirrors
teeth
gauze
mice
Wombat
Rose

That's lovely. Thank you.

The likely explanation here is somehow all of these got used in some email and are being spit back randomly (varrao mites also got mentioned in one of Dara's emails).

The (admittedly) unlikely explanation revolves around how the list resembles the inventory in an adventure game.

Adventureland (the first adventure game for personal computers) had the mites in question. Also, I believe Crobe (early Phoenix game, from the UK) may have had a wombat.

Really a stretch, I know, but the 'dungeon' reference made me think of that (for a while Zork was named Dungeon, then it got changed back to Zork again).

Well, going by the above post...we know Rose is a player who has been in contact with Dana, and I go by ThePhoenix, so if that Wombat is actually a reference to a Phoenix game then that could make sense I suppose...

I'm not convinced of the order yet. Still playing with the blurry ones.

And then there's this:
Quote:
Quick quick quick quick - parse this protocol and find some kind of eyeball out. Sister you just made a mistake because this is my *meat* this is what I do and you are - GOT IT. I'm not asleep this time, sweetheart. Holding the eyeball gently but firmly in your right hand, say the magic words and:

SURPRISE!
Look up and smile, honey.

Look which hand she's holding the camera with in the blurry shots.

Idea for warning Dana

Hi... I've been reading this forum for a while now and I'm not terribly bright at these sort of games. I don't really want disrupt what you've got going on here, but I was just wondering if anyone has thought about writing a letter to Dana through "Ye Olde' Snail Mail" warning her about the possiblity of a plane crash if she attempts to take her vacation as planned.

I'm not sure if a mailing address has been presented on Ilovebees.com or if this idea would be approprate in the context of the game, but this might be a "safer" alternative to email due to the Queen/Operator intercepting her email.

Just something to keep in mind, eh?

P.S. Please forgive me if I troutted. :\
