 		Troy - we can assume - is a colony world in the Halo universe, housing millions of colonists.

For some reason something HUGE has come up. So huge that the crew of this ship have to stand back and watch as the Covenant destroy this world. The Operator is left having to stand back and watch, unable to do anything, just like the crew.

 		I ended up with the same as Roc for the Greene/Sorenson conversation.
One question I did have though : What does 'C-and-C' mean/stand for?

Command and Control. The bridge of the ship, nerve center of the operation, etc.

 		Could also be Communications and Control; What I interperet is that the ship that the Captain and Lieutenant are on has infiltrated Covenant space/and or their networks and has intercepted and decrypted information regarding to an attack on Troy; however, aborting the current mission, heading home and informing command of this (and evacuating Troy as consequence) would alert the enemy as to their communications vulnerability.
My next speculation (based on others reasoning that these are The Operators memories being unearthed by SPDR) is that this conversation is a precursor to events that put the O into dissaray.

"1st Lt Sorenson: For the first time, I'm not sure I want to know what's in them"

Would that mean that these militaries are the same kind of "things" than the Operator. They seem to be able to "see in people", just like the Operator can see in Dana. So are they A.I too? Doesn't sound logical, they sound very human. We can guess that the Operator is an A.I created from one of them, but all of them have the power to see into people.

All this stuff doesn't sound quite logical.

I don't think they're talking about seeing inside someone/something. He's probably talking about something else, like a room or capsule or something. May just be speculation, but he could be referring to Troy.

 		Now this is wild speculation, but it sounds like BOTH conversations are from the AIs memories... since we've gathered that Captain Greene was a woman... perhaps the AI was, at one point, Captain Greene... (*before*)

The second conversation is overheard by the AI - this theory fits perfectly into the context of the dialogue.... but is it true?

Also, being involved in intelligence requires playing HIDE AND SEEK with one's targets....

Could the operator be the Circumference's AI? It would make sence if the AI favorite game is hide and seek.

the text is immediatly followed by discussion of not letting the Cov. know that their transmissions have been intercepted, i think Sorenson was saying that he wished he didn't know the truth, that the Cov was about to mount a full scale attack on Troy.

Uhm, in context, I thought that "what's in them" is referring to Captain Greene's orders, especially considering that Lt. Sorenson doesn't really finish his first sentence. He's saying that he's really better off not knowing what HQ has ordered Greene to do.

 		No, I think the castaway would be The Operator. It's been stated before she was the only survivor from the ship.

She's stranded in a strange world of sand (silicon/glass), not too unlike a foreign beach.

Unless I'm missing something you guys have over there that I haven't read yet.

Wow, I just woke up and saw everything.

This "entity" actually has an intelligence, before it just posted gibersh.

Perhaps it's like a flood form evolving, first, it is a brainlesss drone, then it becomes something else, latching onto it's target and stealing their brain, then it fully devlops into a combat form......

I've only seen one page, there is so much mroe to look at.....

i meant the castaway sailor, the guy who they picked up stranded in deep space, he played 20th century jazz music and called the operator "Melissa", he made her "feel real"... i'm not sure if he's one of the characters speaking or not
