The boldifications are mine. Coincidence? The operator doesn't sound like it is having any luck in the skinning process (whatever the meaning of skinning?) Dana says that she has been skinned. Then the operator must have succeeded anyway, I guess.
When Dana says that she has been seen she could be referring to the webcam images, which are probably taken by the operator. It sounds like it is searching for something to control.

I took this to mean that Dana was definitely responding directly to the Operator's comment. Dana reminds me a bit of Laia, from the Beast (except, of course, that Laia didn't take off). She is at least as smart as we are, if not more, so anything we can figure out, she can figure out. She knows all about the Operator's comment.
