Okay, you beat me by a few minutes, I'm going to go delete my thread now.

As far as solving goes, I have no time for Urban Hunt right now, unfortunately. I'm moving tomorrow (going to college! yay!). I'll catch up with you guys later.

Got it - now what?

First unforum post EVER! I think I'm doing this right, but let me know if I've violated any rules here.

I think I've got part of the solution:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take all Caps in subject = SMALL

Taking all small characters, we get: wovultlzzhnl
Now ROT it, we get "phonemessage"

So I went to http://www.dreadhouse.com/phonemessage.html

Looking for something in the image there, but have yet to find it.

'Tis late. I'm going to bed. Anyone else find anything?

Mike
(Er, hi.)

It's got a -lot- of one letter words that are all different from each other, so I don't think it's a simple substitution, I think.

Also, the name of the page is probably a clue: "phone message".

Perhaps the numbers punched in on a phone to get those letters mean something?

There is source code at the bottom of the page we found which refers to a flash file. Pixiestix in #uh found the following:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
www.dreadhouse.com/counter.swf
It is a recording of a phone message on the machine of "Jamie", and the message is from a strange male voice, who says something nearly unintelligible, then types a long string of numbers on his phone.

I've uploaded the file Pixie found...

It's a vignere cypher, keyword "phonemessage". Here's the decryption.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I recieved this message on my answering machine shortly after I began investigating the Dread House show. The caller ID was blocked so I'm not certain who it came from but I am positive it is about Dread House. I had been calling many people and places right before this, asking questions about the show, so whomever it was could have gotten my number that way. Not too long after this I began receiving some of the articles in the mail that I have already shared with you.

Excellent work Idran!

Here's the extracted .mp3 sound file from the message, if you want to play around with it directly...

If I'm not mistaken, that seems to be a code using phone keys. Can anyone make out what the computer voice says at the start of the message?

We do seem to have a name for jc now, though.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Anyone else come up yet named Jamie? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

And unless Ed had a sex and name change, I guess this rules him out.

I tried splitting up that based on the way the tones were grouped in the sound, here's what I got.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
12 21 10 6 93 94 27 35 2 9 12 4 6 98 9 9 16 12 7 9 8 3 9 71 70 4 31 8 59 27 4 9 41 59 8 28 139

Great idea Idran. Now get in the #urbanhunt channel on IRC so we can praise you for your tour-de-force of solves and ideas in the string of puzzles.
