 		[SPEC] Unbridled Speculation
The network erosion is complete. The site that was once ilovebees.com was somehow infected with a consciousness, a military AI. It carried memories of ONI (Office of Naval Intel?) tech Kowalski, Midshipman Arrelts, Lt. Sorenson, Capt. Greene.

During the SPDR reconstruction, which was an attempt by the AI's reflexes to rebuild itself, Dana came along and tried to purge the files. The SPDR fought her attempt off, but first, it figured out who she was. The AI, now missing bits of its memories of its crew, is not a happy camper. Vengeance becomes the soup du jour, and she (he?) has no intention of serving the dish cold, lukewarm or anything less than boiling.

Dana has found herself on the bad side of our dear AI.

However, there's a light at the end of the tunnel for Dana.

In our killer.jpg image, we have a hello from our friend the Widow and a remark to Dana hidden in the binary for Dana not to be afraid.

This is just one man's interpretation.

Thoughts?

 		Would it make sense if these AIs had somehow all come from the future? Extra time travel?

 		I`m guessing the widow is "black widow" as in spider. (SPDR)
SPDR`s mission is to recover the crews memories after something went horribly wrong in slipspace. (Any FTL travel can result in time travel.)
Finding itself in a strange network SPDR is doing the best job it can of recovering the crew.

Dana destroyed crew memories by trying to repair her website.
SPDR can now only recover one persons memories and then only by grafting together bits remaining from other crew members to create a whole person. (the queen)

We need to communicate with the queen so it retrieves cognitive prowess.
One of them used to be a computer engineer.
One of them will sacrifice themselves for the good of the many.
Full awareness would probably require SPDR taking over a LOT of computers...metastatis.
Only that will prevent the black widow from killing Dana.
SPDR thinks Dana is the enemy.
The crew member\s have some doubt.
Convince her\them not to hurt Dana.

I know nothing about Halo.
Can a fan tell me if slipspace can alter the flow of time?
Can peoples memories be backed up on chips?

Very Happy This is a wild speculation thread.

 		AI can be constructed, not just copied into chips. Creating an AI matrix is the subject of a lot of discussion.

I don't think that what we're seeing is the attempt of the spider to resurrect an AI by combining all its personalities, but rather combining all its memories, which is a wholly different line of thought.

The AI does indeed have a consciousness, it's quite pissy at Dana at the moment. It's concerned about resurrecting its memories, not its personality.

 		I second that spec, Cortana. Dana got spooked because the AI, out for blood, grabbed a bunch of blurry webcam shots - probably the best she could do:

 		Aha.
But how does that fit with the dream story in the images?
One constructed AI.
One frankenstein backup of human memories.
If wild speculation must be done...may as well fit it to all the available data.
Now I just need to find the flea.

I think all the crew chat is not the remains of the crew, but rather parts of the Operator's log. So we are seeing stuff from the Operartor's log, nothing else.

I can see only the SPDR, the automated repair system of the Operator. The Operator which is broken, being repaired by the SPDR. The SPDR recognizes Dana as the enemy of the repair.

I dont see a second AI yet.

So, The Operator is assuming that it's in its own time! It seems quite unaware that it's stuck in the year 2004. It keeps making assumptions as to what kind of technology as house would be equipped with.

This also explains the Cortana letters which take place in our time as well as this ARG regardless of who it is.

Yeah, good idea! Perhaps while this ship was traveling through slip space, it was destroied or it crashed somewhere, but the AI managed to escape to Dana's computer, but because of this catastrophic journey, The Operator was damaged and lost all of its memory, thus automatically activating SPDR. The crashing of the ship would partly explain the MAYDAY texts.

Circumference
Description:
The Circumference was an ONI stealth ship disguised as a private yacht. It was docked in an orbital shipdock above Reach and had no had time to properly erase it's navigation data. Since it could not be destroyed with certainty of total data loss, SPARTAN-117 was tasked to take a team to erase the data.

Other ONI stealth ships include the Lark, the Athens, and the Applebee

 		The Crystals mentioned by MrBeanTroll and Frolets post on this thread match up with the jewels found in the dream text.
I`m gonna have to learn more about the Halo universe/ fit my theory into the program statements in a similar manner to xnbomb/write a string ripper geared towards this site. *sigh* six months spare time to spend in a few days.

 		An idea that occured to me is that the ship that The Operator was assigned to is one of the ONI stealth ships mentioned, either the Lark or the Applebee (since the Circumfrence was destroyed at the Fall of Reach). The crew makes mention of their mission in the recostructed dialogue and how it is possibly even more important than reporting the peril of Troy back to HQ. On top of that, there's even an ONI operative aboard the ship.

If this is the case, I think it's likely that the Applebee is the ship they are aboard (seems like too much of a coincidence not to be). Maybe they were intercepted by the Covenant on the way to their destination, possibly even in slipspace. If they had an accident in slipspace, and one of the crystals mentioned was involved, then it's possible that The Operator was flung back in time and shipwrecked on the ilovebees.com website.

What do any of you think about this?
