[QUESTION] Somebody who knows Halo?

We need somebody to paraphrase & summarize the novels, as well as Halo's plotline, for those of us who are left out. Anybody up to the task? This would be posted on the Wiki.

The three Halo novels in order:

The Fall of Reach (Ends moments before Halo begins)
The Flood (Retelling the story of Halo)
First Strike (Telling the story between the end of Halo and the start of Halo 2)

The first and third are surprisingly good novels.
The second is only really reccomended if you haven't/don't want to play the game. It's not nearly as good.

I'm a big ol' Halo fan, and I'll gladly help out as much as I can. Whats the URL for the Wiki this would be on, though? I think I had the url but, sadly, forgot to save it.

I completely agree, except The Flood is alright, since it does tell more than the game does. From different perspectives, and other events that you wouldn't know about. Such as the Alpha Base that the marines set up, that was never in the game, as it was unesissary to be in the game. But yeah, Fall of Reach and First Strike are excellent books. FoR could be a standalone game or even movie Smile

Hey all. Guys this is wigging me out. I'm a big Halo fan and that's how I got into this ARG. I read the first book, didn't find the second in the store at the time, and am now reading the third. On page 98 I found this, "Officially designated UNSC HighCom facility B-6, the sprawling edifice had been nicknamed "the Hive." Also I remember seeing ONI on ilovebees.com after "Network throtteling eroded" and ONI is an organization in the Halo universe. I can't remember right now but I'll edit this post as soon as I find out. Also, any questions about Halo, just PM me.

I'll get right on it later tonight. I have to go get dinner for me and my girl in a little bit.

Should I put them under anything specific? Halo? Use the book titles?

Put it under... I'll create a page for you to use, and then post it here. Use the book titles and the title of Halo the game like such:

The Fall of Reach (Ends moments before Halo begins)
The Flood (Retelling the story of Halo) & Halo (THE GAME)
First Strike (Telling the story between the end of Halo and the start of Halo 2)

Here's your article, which is linked from the main page:
http://bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?title=Halo_%26_Marathon&action=edit

We also need somebody to do a summary of the Marathon story-line!!

Guys, before you do too much work on more halo summaries -- look in the Quick Reference topic. There is a lot of stuff linked in there. Don't re-invent the wheel! We've had lots of offers of halo and marathon info. Make sure your offering aren't already covered.

Hehe, I'll start with FoR

*takes a deep breath* Okay, First we Start with Dr. Halsey, and Captain Keyes, there in an area full of rebel bases, and many sightings of Pirates have been found here. They are both on a ship to A small planet. Once on the planet they find this child "John" Spartan-117, he is curently 7 years of age. He seems to be athleticly Great, and is quite intelligent, and he always wins at any game (he was banned from a few games on the playground he was so good). Dr. Halsey basically Interviews John, and finds that John has something that makes him special...... Luck. From that point Project: Spartan abducts 7 year old children at a pinnacle of strength, speed, and intelligence. The childen have been cloned, to replace these abducted children so the parents are none the wiser. These children are trained vigoursly, and taught about battle. During there travels they are drugged, to make them quicker, stronger, and smarter. Only 32 spartans survive. They continue to get trained and are able to take out the best in the military, and take no remorse in killing anyone who is a threat. John, Who is a well rounded spartan, becomes a Master chief early on in his military carear. Then the worst happens, these things called the Covenant, attack a main supplier of ressources. These Covenant Come in 6 Species, Grunt(canon fire takers) , Jackal(assasins/seconnisence), Elite(top of the line), Prophet(Religious figures, control everything of the covenant), Scientists(I wonder), and hunter (dealiest of them all, travel in 2's). They are very advanced in technology, adn they think that they are simply the messengers of their gods, who want the humans dead. So Covenant are winning battles over and over and over. (I'm skipping alot of the stuff that's great, but has ntohgin to do with the main plot line when it comes to important stuff). So These spartans get these suits that make them 10x better than they originally do, suit name MJOLNIR. They do battles and stuff (notice the Spartans never lose in ground battles). The master chief gets a better suits, with shields. Reach (the main base, second to Earth) Decides it's time to take the fight to convenant. There goona take over a ship, with a prophet and bring it back to earth. There about to go on this Ship, (the Pillar of Autumn) with this smart AI who developed a personallity (cortana) Before they leave with the remaining Spartans, Reach Is attacked, and there was one ship with all information about Earth and it's whereabout, so the MC (master chief), and 2 others go for the ship, while veryone else fights on Reach, (fast forward) Every Spartan is dead on Reach, while 2 only had a 50/50 chance of living, presumed dead, so the pillar of autmun goes into slipstream, with the only reamining Spartan, John, Spartan 117 (lucky, eh?). They end up in some random spot and they see it, Halo, Big cring in that air with artificial life, Made by the forerunners, (someone tell me if you understood that, and if I forgot stuff)

This is already in the quick refrence forum (my little attempt at a trout-barrier), but it does cover marathon's history in a brief and concise way.

They took the children when they were six. Also, they weren't drugged. They underwent surgery when they were around 14 give or take a year. And we've only heard of 6 Covenant species. Most of those are only military. There are more. Lastly, every spartan has shields. Not just the Master Chief.
