[SPEC] Hong Kong Connection

Ok - a lurkers first post here. Trout me if deserved - I did search and could find nothing on this...

So Dana is in Asia (Shanghai atm). A while ago there was some discussion on one of the Halo forums about an image of in game footage **edit for self-correction - it was a promotional poster** that showed a high rise building. Some locals in Hong Kong recognised it and said that it was one in that city (and posted real world photos of the building - looked pretty similar)....

So... the chances of a building like that surviving into the Halo/Halo2 time are pretty slim.

Could this mean that in H2, the MC-

?

I'll go and search for those images now.

interesting....

the story is much more action, and much less drama driven... i dont think that will happen, but i could certainly eat my words.. who knows.

Yeah, probably. Had the thought and felt I should put it out there.

BTW-Nice work to all the Axon attendees

i think that China just provides Dana a convenient 'out'. Her character is smart, attractive, charming, and a geek, every fanboy's wet dream. By putting her in the land of Farfaraway, it helps keep her distance, and helps deter said rabid fanboys from trying to track her down in San Fransisco.
The writers may also be using her as a kind of metaphor for isolation and longing: the most recent post about interacting with other Americans comes to mind.

Well it's unsupported by all the of Halo trailers, but I suppose they could just be leaving it out. Seems more likely to me that the building just looked kinda futuristic and was a good art asset.
