Alternate Site The dreadhouse.com website also stores a copy of an older version of the site at
http://www.dreadhouse.com/dhsite.swf
Among other things, it has two e-mail adresses in the contact section, infoSPLAT dreadhouse.com, which is the same on the new website, and
if you have information on Dread House,
iknowSPLAT dreadhouse.com
[EDIT] Now it's gone a mere 1 hour after I posted it
Those post-reading bastards!

We can see that they are monitoring our posts because now the alternate site is gone.
I am VERY new to ARG, interest began with I love Bees. Well i look forward to learning from you guys. BTW I know this is asking a lot but if you guys could maybe post a little info about how and what it is you are talking about (i.e steging a picture, ROT) it would really help us total newbs.

Holy crap!
I posted that like 1 hour ago, and they already responded.
Maybe we need to make this forum more private!
Doesn't them monitoring our posts defeat the whole point of us solving the puzzle?
They could anticipate all our moves and chage things.
I call shenanigans!

Firstly, you'd have to be assuming that was a "puzzle" to begin with and not an "oops" on the PMs part (which does happen).
If it were an "oops", I'd rather the PMs know that we found it and get rid of it before I dedicated a lot of time to a deadend.
I'm *glad* the PMs read the forums. It makes them better game masters and the games themselves of a higher quality. I couldn't imagine a PM *NOT* reading the forums and responding to their players.
This is merely an example excellent PMing, imo.

Retep01, this link has a few short explanations of ROT and Steg as well as several other things to use and look for.
http://www.unfiction.com/dev/tutorial/
This is a link to some of the online tools that are available and used by many in ARG's.
http://www.unfiction.com/resource/otools.html
Hope that helps, if not feel free to ask.

i think perhaps we should. particularly Richard Meyer as he was clearly instructed to destroy the memo etc. .. and yet here it is.
edit: well not instructed to destroy the memo as such ... but still ... he seems the best chance at the moment?

I have sent emails to GBoyle and RMeyer. Nothing has bounced back in 12 hours.
Meanwhile, my original email to Ron regarding the the author of the autoresponder to the UH application has not been answered.

I think we established in #uh the other day that sending email to any username @ tomorrowstalk.com will not bounce - any unrecognized username is most likely filtered into some general account...

ok well... Heart's racing a million miles a moment. I had a bit of a speculation so I called TT. I'm a bit of a Lurker, so naturally I'm introverted, however very professional, so i figured if someone picked up the phone, I would be ok to speak to someone. Anyway on with the story.
I was speaking to my friend last night who works for a big law firm in down town toronto, and I brought up the subject that I was a bit iffy about the email addresses of greg boyle and Richard Meyar. I told him we had assumed what they were but nothing as of yet. he reminded me that that Assuming makes an ass out of u and me. Naturally I grimaced as he said that.
He told me that email adresses of executive postions such as VP or pres. have more distingushed e-mail adresses that are normally their full name instead of first initial and last name. He told me that a simple call to the company could remedy this. also he said that if you haven't received an e-mail back then you should call the company and clarify that the e-mail has even been recieved.
Since this is supposed to be a "big business" type company they have to act professional right? So I suggest that if you're curious as to whether or not your e-mail has been received and it's been a couple days, you may want to call and check
Also I clarified and the email adresses GBoyleSPLAT tomorrowstalk.com and RMeyerSPLAT tomorrowstalk.com are correct. however the woman on the phone studdered quiet a few times as she spoke.

I believe I have re -found the old version of the site:
http://www.dreadhouse.com/dhsite2/dhsite2.swf
The one you see normally now is http://www.dreadhouse.com/dhsite2/dhsite.swf
And, since it appears that they are monitoring these boards (or at least they know we found it) I have archived the .swf files on my home computer, just in case.
Also, you may notice a holographic-style "spider" (it appears to be...who knows) where there is nothing in the site we see now. I'm not entirely sure what that is...

Yup, they took it down again.
PHammmond, can you host it somewhere like imageshack.us for everyone to see?

Doesn't seem to me like they took it down.. but it could be because it's in my browser cache.
Anyway, the differences between the two just seem like minor style differences. The old one features a lot of (really annoying) screaming and then the flash page opens up to the normal site with a (hideously ugly and seemingly pointless) rotating insect dragonfly spider thingie.
So.. yeah. I don't see any reason to go investigating it. But have fun

Yeah, working on that as we speak. I'll edit with a link.
