Ok, I've tried searching both here and netninja, and I don't think this has been asked...

Is there any significance to Kowalski's *cough* in the dialogue?

 		Well, he's flirting with a woman he likes and openly lied about The Operator's favorite game after he coughs. My speculation would be that his coughing is a 'tell' that he is lying to impress his female companion. Anything stated just after a cough is most likely false information.

Or, he could be sick. Either is feasible.
