For discussion of the new page found on TheUnraveling

Star-crossed and tempest-tossed--
Do we not understand that which we fear?
Fear not - I do not speak in tongues.
It is just as if I had died, and here
We are, the phoenix resprung!
Recast, our luck's blood spilleth fair
So come, let us kneel in prayer
For those sacred loved we have lost

And it has a pyramid with text and code.
Left side of the pyramid:

The writing on the right side of the pyramid, I believe is the masonic alphabet.

My attempt at the right hand side of the pyramid. I used the second method of jesuit cryptography from: http://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/isis/iu2-08b.htm
Code:

*Edit: since Darkphan posted the result from using the first method, I deleted my version.

Using the royal arch font, the following is a translation of the right hand side of the pyramid:

Code:
B
eh
old
! Oy
r ne
fario
ys Dio
ine Tri
nitw: Dj
ehyti, H
elleniko
n, and th
e Zenerable
 Dick Clark!
O Hear oyr p
rawers, and s
hed light on t
he Uaw To entra
p the apostles i
n their fynereal
gaol! Hail to oyr
triparsise Antichr
ist, uho renders ys
uhole!

String it out and it says:

Code:
Behold! Oyr nefarioys Dioine Trinitw: Djehyti, Hellenikon, and the Zenerable Dick Clark! O Hear oyr prawers, and shed light on the Uaw To entrap the apostles in their fynereal gaol! Hail to oyr triparsise Antichrist, uho renders ys uhole!

EDIT: I have capitalized the letters that had the dashed lines around the symbols

Looks like there are some mistakes (or clues?) in there...

Quote:
behold! oyr nefarioys dioine trinitw: djehyti, hellenikon, and the zenerable dick clark! o hear oyr prauers and shed light on the uaw to entrap the apostles in their fynereal gaol! hail to oyrtriparsise antichrist, uho renders ys uhole!

still not completely right, but makes a bit more sense ...

Quote:
behold! our nefarious divine trinity: djehyti, hellenikon, and the venerable dick clark! o hear our prayers and shed light on the uaw to entrap the apostles in their fynereal gaol! hail to our triparsise antichrist, who renders us whole!

Either way the Dick Clark part is weird. Maybe this has something to do with living forever or not aging?

added the words "prayers and" that enaxor got when she did the decoding[/b]

that is HYSTERICAL. Kudos to the PMs!

Isn't that first name "djehuti"?
Doing some substitution/correction, I'd assume it's

behold! our nefarious divine trinity: djehuti, hellenikon, and the venerable dick clark! o hear our prayers and shed light on the way to entrap the apostles in their funereal gaol! hail to our tripartite antichrist, who renders us whole!

Putting the capitals back in:
Quote:

Behold! Our nefarious Divine Trinity: Djehuti, Hellenikon, and the Venerable Dick Clark! O Hear our prayers and shed light on the Way to entrap the apostles in their funereal gaol! Hail to our tripartite Antichrist, who renders us whole!

Djehuti [Thoth or Hermes Trismegistus]: The God of mathematics, writing, and scholarship. In some creation myths He is the voice of Ptah (the word or logos that appears in Christian and Jewish creation myths) as Ptah emerges from the Cosmic Egg. In the creation myth of the Ogdoad revealing the Ennead, Djehuti and Seshat play the role of primary creation deities. Djehuti is typically shown with the head of an ibis or a baboon.

I didn't find any references to Hellenikon being a deity, just a location.

I thought the use of the word 'gaol' was also interesting - it's another word for 'jail' but usually with the implication that it is a temporary holding facility before the trail to determine one's guilt.

Interestingly enough, "Conqueror Worm" is a poem by Poe written hundreds of years ago.
And yet, I love how it can kind of apply to an ARG! The parts I boldened could have just been written about Urban Hunt!

Quote:

Lo! 'tis a gala night
Within the lonesome latter years!
An angel throng, bewinged, bedight
In veils, and drowned in tears,
Sit in a theatre, to see
A play of hopes and fears,
While the orchestra breathes fitfully
The music of the spheres.

Mimes, in the form of God on high,
Mutter and mumble low,
And hither and thither fly-
Mere puppets they, who come and go
At bidding of vast formless things
That shift the scenery to and fro,

Flapping from out their Condor wings
Invisible Woe!

That motley drama–oh, be sure
It shall not be forgot!
With its Phantom chased for evermore,
By a crowd that seize it not,
Through a circle that ever returneth in
To the self-same spot,
And much of Madness, and more of Sin,
And Horror the soul of the plot.

But see, amid the mimic rout
A crawling shape intrude!
A blood-red thing that writhes from out
The scenic solitude!
It writhes!–it writhes!–with mortal pangs
The mimes become its food,
And seraphs sob at vermin fangs
In human gore imbued.

Out–out are the lights–out all!
And, over each quivering form,
The curtain, a funeral pall,
Comes down with the rush of a storm,
While the angels, all pallid and wan,
Uprising, unveiling, affirm
That the play is the tragedy, "Man,"
And its hero the Conqueror Worm.

THE END

As for the poetry on the page, the PMs can write some pretty good poetry!

EDIT: From here

Quote:
the Pyramid of Hellenikon dates back to 2720 B.C., 100 and 170 years older than the Egyptian Pyramids of Zozer and Cheops respectively.

So that explains why it's part of the trio- just like Dick Clark, it's really old!

Yeah, I know. I just think the PM's made an excellent choice with that poem because it could have been written about an ARG.

Aren't we exactly like puppets commanded by vast formless things?
A crowd uf using is chasing the Phantom of the Seventh Sons- and we seize it not.

Some observations:

- the letter frequencies of the left side of the pyramid is very close to that of normal english. So I'm thinking this might be some sort of transposition
- there are 169 letters which would form a nice 13x13 grid. Some transpositions require a square grid.
- enaxor pointed out that "tempest tossed" may be hinting at anagramming (transposition being a specific form of anagramming)
- the background image http://www.theunraveling.com/worm/stars.gif could be constellations. possibly useful?

Thoughts?

To me, at least, it looks a bit like the constellation Cepheus.

(no cepheus.html on TU, though)
