look, remember Lucrezia is missing a finger.

She's playing cat's cradle with her other personality. To an outsider, it would seem she is playing by herself. Typically, you would be using all 10 fingers, but she's missing one.

With the mentioning of rain, spiders and the sun I instantly thought of the Itsy, Bitsy Spider song. The full lyrics (in case someone doesn't know the song)...

Quote:
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun that dried up all the rain,
And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.

Cat's cradle, the way I played it anyway, involved using a thread. Itsy, Bitsy Spider uses only your fingers. Both typically use all 10 fingers. Smile

Lucrezia only has 9 fingers.
And you don't weave anything in the itsy bitsy spider song.

Still sounds to me like she's playing Itsy, Bitsy Spider. The lyrics have rain, a spider and the sun. You sort of weave your fingers together when acting out the spider part of the song.

But Itsy Bitsy Spider Song is not a game.
Cat's cradle is.
This whole thing isn't about the itsy bitsy spider anyways. Was there a time machine in itsy bitsy spider???

Also, cat's cradle is multiplayer (2 players) or single player.

Lucrezia is thinking she's playing with someone else except she's only playing with her other personality.

Sure it is. Unfortunately, I have to play it with my 2 year old every single day. Wink

A reorginization of the poem:

Do you know what living in the eternal garden is?
Do you know what living in the eternal garden is?

*open/close questions

I remember that piece I was playing only on black keys.
I remember that game of nine weaving fingers we played.
I remember they saying it is not poetry, it is not game.

*recalling her memories
*In the third memory,
-peotry refers to the (poetic) lyrics of Itsy Bitsy Spider
-game refers to (game) Cat's Cradle or the Itsy Bitsy Spider game...?

The time machine is loosing pieces and still doesn't know.
Memories falling down and melting like unknown snow.

*losing her memory

Rain. Rain. Rain. Will you help myself whole again?
*She wants Ame to come back and merge w/ her...?
Spiders coming and under the sun I remember no more.
*The docs with meds come back in the morning, and I act "normal" again.

Actually, this is beginning to look like a profile for a glucose/elelctro-shock treatment patient.

Glucose shock/ electroshock treatment is for the progressive erasure of short term memory.

If repeated enough times, you can clean the slate...

Hi Guys,

I think we are focusing too much of our efforts in the wrong direction. Lucrezia (or whoever she is) has always written cryptic emails about rain, spiders, and what not - but these messages are confusing and incoherent.

I believe, in time, that the story behind Lucrezia's alleged mental illness and dissociative identities will become much clearer. However, in order to progress, I think we need to focus less on possible metaphors and more on actual clues we have been provided. We still have two mystery numbers to decipher, not to mention freeme, whatever that might refer to. We should also be looking for hidden messages in the email she sent ... because this could explain such obscure references.

The closure of her Orkut account has further narrowed our search. But this is likely a good sign. Under the assumption that someone else is trying to contact us through Lucrezia (and exhibits some degree of control over her actions), this individual would likely have kept the account active until his or her message had been received.

Don't get me wrong ... I think that understanding the story is vital, but at this point, we have no evidence to support an itsy bitsy spider or cat's cradle reference ... and even if we did, would this knowledge lead us anywhere at this point?

Robert

Okay.. to reorganise.. the following are still unsolved..

Quote:
four friends weaving a 0822162710052 spiders' web. 6:18 AM 8/6/04

the time and date being the time and date that this post was made.
This was later found out to match a split in half barcode on Lucrezia's Photo on OrKut.

We need to solve the code found in the picture and check the other pictures for codes as well.

Need to solve FREEMe.

Those last two I think are the most important to focus on. I havn't been able to do so due to scheduleing issues.. but tomorrow I am off from work and will give it a go.

Actually we have two codes to solve. 0822162710052 and 10011614221022. The first one has one less number than the second but, to me, it seems they are both encoded using the same method.

they both have:
three 0's
four 2's
one 6

to me they look like:
82.216.27.1:52
100.116.142.21:22

or maybe they are scrambled from the email headers.

or, if you reverse one of them and line them up, alot of numbers match up:

_10011614221022
2500172612280

if you don't reverse it, the max you can get is 5 lined up:
__0822162710052
10011614221022

should be simpler

I don't know.. I still think it should be some kind of simple cypher. After looking at Lucrezia's email address I tried again with the 2-digits block idea I had before and:

Code:
 t  o  l  m  h  b  e
08-22-16-27-10-05-2?
10-01-16-14-22-10-22

3x"22", 3x"10", 2x"16".. the problem is that with so few letters you can't even do frequence analisys. I am re-reading everything Lucrezia sent us searching for a key but no results untill now... Crying or Very sad

And if the code will yeld some word like tolmhbe, well, how are we supposed to know we have decoded it right? Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I am thinking that the first set was to point us to mbox.txt or possibly the mbox.1.txt and we got a friendly nudge cause we were not getting it. No matter how I try to make that fit, it won't tho. Also, mbox has gotta be for mailbox and this was a mail correspondance and there is a mention of transferring emails to a palmtop so I figure the trail will change to that at some point but I couldn't make the URLs I tried work for that. I don't think that the number clue would spell out tolmbhe because that was info we already have and no amount of guessing would have gotten us to mbox without a clue. I am almost leaning towards these numbers not being ciphers at all at this point and we are missing something much more simple like IP addresses that fyzle mentioned.

mbox & spider webs

Hey everyone,

mbox is the standard email file for *nix OS, I believe (or at least Sun/Solaris). The URL http://www.geocities.com/tolmhbe/mbox works just as well as http://www.geocities.com/tolmhbe/mbox.txt , so I tried a few additional URLs, like

http://www.geocities.com/tolmhbe/mail/saved-messages
http://www.geocities.com/tolmhbe/mail/sent-mail

to no avail.

Also, I started to look at the scrap from Orkut:

four friends weaving a 0822162710052 spiders' web. 6:18 AM 8/6/04

It seems to me the number is a replacement for a word like "tangled" or "sticky", but I couldn't make the numbers work.

OK, those were two dead ends for me, but I'm posting in the hopes that it spurs someone to success. Smile

[edit] realized piano connection had been made to black keys comment [/edit]

I've actually been friends with at least one diagnosed multiple personality. There are two others who were not "certified" and for reasons too elaborate to go into here I'm reluctant to use that title, but there were similar aspects.

Many people have commented that if the mbox.txt author was another personality in Lucrezia, then the author would not have trouble with English. Speaking from experience this assertion is false--it is entirely possible that an alternate personality would have different language skills. Ditto for the "tapping at the window" comment--this is not a comment that would indicate AGAINST the multiple-personality theory. It doesn't support it, but it is not evidence against it. I've heard one personalty accuse another of trying to stuff his head down a garbage disposal--statements of physical interaction aren't unheard of.

Trying to crackt he codes, I've done a bunch of manipulation going into and out of binary form for both words and numbers, but no luck.
