Hey all,

Another late joiner via the NYT. What did people make of the weird double quotation in the second half of the article in the technology section:
...
"The Internet basically is about searching for things and gossiping, and we invented a way to tell stories that's about searching for things and gossiping," Stewart said. "It is a much nicer way to deliver art across the platform."
"The Internet basically is about searching for things and gossiping, and we invented a way to tell stories that's about searching for things and gossiping." --Sean Stewart, writer
...

Any thoughts?

Hey guys, Chalk one up for the Georgians! I'm a new player out of Georgia, USA... Just thought I should let someone know that I'm involved, and I can attempt to get my hands on any Atlanta newspapers should the need arise!

Yeah...so I'm new

I'm new, another convert from the NYT article. As for the double quotation, I have no idea....though I'm thinking it was a genuine flub by the editors, and not in-game...it's the NYT after all...

Right, so it just so happens that I'll be in LA on March 8th, so the LAT is mine...will scan and post.

Also, had an epiphany/aneurysm not too long ago....

There's that 24 digit code on the postcards that have been showing up (off-subject, I'll be checking out LAX and SEA-TAC for postcards), and I just realized how stupid I am - Project Syzygy is referred to in some of those cache files as Project 24. There's also a Gatehouse 24 (presumably an entrance for Syzygy personnel), and a Gatehouse 12 (which is the public entrance). There has to be a connection there....or not.

Just some wild spec to start my perplexcity venture....

Also, I'm going on leave, so if anyone wants to take a crack at this while I'm off line, feel free.

-TZ

Here we go

I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring. I'm a touch late on this one, coming in off the original C|Net article. I was a Beaster and I was a beta tester on Majestic before I entered the military for a few years. I'm out now and excited to help out on this. I also used to be a producer for AGENCY.COM, the web-design company, so I'll offer whatever skills I have in that area.

Hello all

yet another NVT convert. Never heard of ARG before (been in Korea for a while now) but I love puzzles. Been practicing my basic cyrptography skills and [not so] paitently awaiting the start

If they are crazy enough to get an ad in a Korean paper or a postcard north of Seoul Im here <laughs>

it is fun after all

I see holes all around me

Hey, I'm from Albuquerque, NM, US (which, coincidentally, has an Old Town... but so does San Diego). Haven't seen anyone post from near here, so I thought I'd check in!

Albuquerque? That's about a three hour drive from here (Here being NMSU). Three hours in New Mexico constitutes nearness if you ask me. Glad to see another person from the desert working on PPC, I thought I was the only one.

Same for me on th noob bit. This is my first real ARG, though I've followed Beast and Bees for different magazine articles I was working on. I'm a toy designer in Chicago, and pretty pumped to work this puppy out.

Yeah, I'd say that's near. Hi neighbor! I'm new obviously, so I haven't seen where everyone is from yet. Good to know I'm not alone out here.

Another new ARGer here, sucked in via CNet.

I've been reading all I can get my eyes on over the last two days, trying to get caught up on the conversations and the story so far, so I might be able to add something of value down the road. Very Happy

Looks like it'll be a great ride!

hey the all

yet another late join. been lurking around for a bit and tryin to get up to speed on everything. saw the NYT thing and had heard about ARGs before, but never participated. i'm from north carolina, and the fact the post cards were found in bologne, italy and chapel hill nc, seems a bit random and strange to me.
