Really Late New Comer

I have a feeling I'm getting into this almost too late but I figure I'll give it a try anyway. Haven't done any ARGs before, but I'm going to try to not be dead weight. Trying frantically to catch up, but I look forward to playing.

For those worried about getting into the game too late:

Please do not be intimidated by the amount of reading that seems to be needed on this forum. Most of the posts made here are speculative posts. A great resource for getting caught up on the game is the Wiki.

Also, the game hasn't even really started yet, so there is no way you are getting in too late. At this point in time, you all know just as much as us, so there is no getting in late yet.

Welcome and enjoy.

Introduction

Hi everyone, Smile

I discovered this game a week or so ago and now my other game is falling behind!

Anyway, this is my first ARG and it is really cool to have all of you working with me!!! It's realy wierd for me because last week I was mentioning a book called The Cube while on the topic of coincidences and the Da Vinci Code - so as fate would have it - I find this!

THanks for all the work people have put in to this forum and the wiki!\

Smile

Marrec is right - it's not late at all. Things have barely begun.
Skip the long threads where people without new content have speculated obsessively despite no new information, and routinely threadjacked for months.

Just look at the wiki/primer and start from those. You can catch up very quickly, and then start looking for new developments from now. While there are a couple of lingering unsolved items, only the newspaper ads are happening as we speak. The game universe and plot have barely begun to unfold.

AND, if we are lucky and the wiki/primer and other resources keep up, it will be very easy for newcomers to tune in even later.

I encourage the mods here to close out the (huge) outdated threads, including this one; players to start new threads only for new developments and discussion on game events; and the game to really get going!

Hi All !! =)

My nick used to be invfish and I played the metacortechs arg for a while. I haven't played an arg since then, however I have been looking for one to play. I didn't really get into "I love bee's" I am not sure why exactly.

I have come back into the world of arg's to exercise my mind. I have let it slip, rather than feeding it constantly. I adore puzzle's and mini adventures and new thought's. I love reading old classics such as 'The golden sayings of Epictetus' or discovering first Edition's of Aldous Huxley books =)

In a way, ARG's give way to renovating the mind. Creating more room. Expanding the playing field of thought, so to speak.

When it comes to solving clue's. I am not alway's the best. However, I do like to see thing's from a different angle. If a group of people were to decribe a tree, I would describe the shape of wind surrounding it and it's relation to the tree.

Most of the time my insight's are usually worthless and nothing more than a different outlook, however, sometime's they can be the ice breaker or give someone a new perception upon the clue they are tackling.

Hi people's. I wrote the last message. It said I was logged in, however I left it for a while because I had to get back to work and the cookie must have timed out by the time I hit post.

I didn't really finish the last post either =P

Hi everyone,

I found the cube advert in the Firebox catalogue yesterday, found the perplexcity website and errorlogs. Did some searching and found there was something called ARGs. Guess I'm well behind the curve on this one, but it sounds like fun, so here i am, happy to help but more likely happy to learn Wink

Hi everybody,

ILB was my first and only ARG. Met the Hons during the hunt for the London axon. Been lurking the Syzygy bit of the forum since then. Now that things seem to be livening up I thought I should introduce myself before I begin posting in earnest. So yeah... Hi.

Hey there,

Just wanted to say hi. Smile I discovered this through the infamous firebox ad last year, and while initially interested I'd forgotten about it till just recently. I'm having lots of fun catching up, and sifting through the somewhat overwhelming amount of speculation!

I never realised how large the ARG community was, or how meticulous and thoughtful both its players and developers were. Some of you guys have amazing minds. I only ever heard of The Beast after the event, and ILB passed me by, but I hope I can keep up with this one.

-D.

Hi all ,,,
I have made a few insignificant posts but thought it was high time I posted an introduction and said thanks to all who have made me feel welcome here.
I have been visiting the site as a non member since February at which time I thought this game was never going to get underway I am happy to say things are getting pretty exciting now and I am anxiously awaiting the 19.
I wish all you who are able to visit the Abbey Road location the best and will be glued to the webcam to see the out come.

Hi all,

I've been around here for awhile, though I am not an "unfictologist", and I don't post that much, but I have never really introduced myself. ILB was my first ARG. I didn't get one solve. I figured stuff out, but usually a day after everyone else.

I have an early attempt at a blog: theofficialfozblog. I'm new at it, so I'm not entirely sure what to do with it. You're welcome to head over and talk games.

Anyway, I've already said too much...I look forward to experiencing this game with everyone.

[EDIT] I go by the same nickname on IRC. Come chat.[/EDIT]

Hello everybody!!!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody. I am from Nicaragua (a small, but beautiful country in Central America), so I may not see any action related to this ARG in this part of the world. However, I will try to assist in any way I can to solve the Perplexian puzzles. I found out about Perplex City in late February through an article on CNET news. Since then I have been trying to catch up with Project Syzygy and Perplex City (very difficult considering that I had to read threads 30 and 40 pages long. I hope to help any way I can. I think you are great guys!!! You have a good sense of humor, and you show great respect to everybody, even to the newest members. I wish you all a Happy Holly Week, and a good hunting of clues. Razz Very Happy Shocked Cool

P.S. My English may seem a little strange, because Spanish is my mother language, but I do my best to practice.
