Hello all, this is RoninBK, aka Patrick from Seattle WA, USA.

I justr found out about the Hunt after someone carelessly, (or perhaps not,) left some puzzle cards on a table at an anime convention I went to around the beginning of the month. So here I am...

Greetings!

Roxdurag here, coming to you from the Great White North that is Canada!

Marc's my name and I can be found in Gatineau, Quebec, which is just across the river from Canada's capital, Ottawa.

I'm just getting up to speed on the whole quest for the cube and am certainly fascinated by the intricacies of the hunt...

I'm pretty good at languages, crypto and pattern recognition.

Happy hunting all!!

Howdy, then.

I'm a grad student (in 18th-century British humanities -- I can help with those Baconian Horrid Deformed Cows somebody posted the Meta section, and perhaps eventually all this mysterious A.D. 1737!) Found unfiction, and then PXC, partially through my university's thinktanky group on new media and partly through what I think I referred to in another post as "Teh Horror LG15".

Really, though, this is exciting to me because as a youngun' I dug those graphic-adventure roleplaying games -- first the "go EAST, use PIPE on CHEESE" texty DOS ones (so I'm deeply and obviously pumped about the upcoming Receda's Revenge The Revengening.) Then, later, all those point 'n click adventures LucasArts and everyone else put out -- Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones, whatever. Then sweet, sweet Myst!

And then everyone (only mostly, but still) stopped doing that and just made shooters and/or "Cause Your Dark Avatar to Wield the Talisman of Opalescent Wrathfulness".

So, yeah. Perplex City, besides being fascinating on a literary/sociocultural/academical-nerdical level, is a massive, unimaginably cool version of the interactive problem-solving dynamic that really grabbed me as a wee 'un.

Welcome all!

Glossolalia, all I'm hoping for is that the key to the whole of Receda's revenge will involve a squab on a stick.

Enter the dragon

I am Zephus. I am some what of a puzzle fiend. I alos love crime solving and such, so I usually have a very deductive mind. I tend to make wild speculations at first, but everynow and then, one or two will stick really well. My speciality is numbers and anything involving numbers, Smile

Hi all! I'm from the UK, and whilst I've been following the storyline for some time, I only got hold of my own cards recently. Planning to take part in Receda's Revenge 2 if I can - so if any IRC is going on I'd like to know. Very Happy

Well, I finally registered

Sup? I'm Kubu-kun, The Sound Ninja! I'm not a n00b, or a total nUb, but was just too lazy to actually register till now. So, listen, I have important information involving the location of the Cube. Look in the topic "HEX information".

Hey I'm the Mexican (my real name is Dave) and I've been playing PXC since Feb. of this year. I never realized this was here so I figured I would introduce myself.

Adding to the pile....

I got involved in PXC a couple weeks ago, and I've become rather obsessed since (I get the suspicion I'm not alone in that regard). I'm looking to help out where possible, and enjoy the ride.

hi, im 15 from australia. i found out about perplexcity about 9 months ago from a friend who saw it advertised or something on some show. i quickly became interested but soon realised i didnt have enough time to truely hunt for the cube. and im not very good at it either so i constantly feel inadeqaute when people go on about number strings and other things i didnt know existed. i cant wait for season 2 because then maybe ill be able to pick up the story and clues to the answer/prize (of season 2) from the start. Anyone that enough typing. cya

EDIT: by the way my name's Tom.

welcome, charcoal dragon. Don't feel inadequate. None of us can do them all on our own. That's why we come here. And we learn stuff as we go.

Quite right Aliendial, I my self only got into this in October, its consumed my life...pleasantly though. I do know a few other players in Australia though if your want to contact them, let me know your email and I will send it on for you (I run PerplexMe.Co.Uk - so have a lot of contacts worldwide). It does feel a bit intimidating, there are numerous puzzles that baffled me, and when they were solved I was left thinking how the heck did they get that...roll on season 2.

Hi

Hi

I'm Si and I live in the UK. I started playing PXC very early last year and managed to get into the top 200 in the World at one point thanks to the help of people here (although I'm not now lol).

Like many other people I am lost on most of the puzzles, there are some very clever people out there who solve them ! I have always enjoyed puzzles and that's why I like PXC so much although I am more interested in the puzzle cards than the prize as I doubt very much I would have a chance of finding it lol.

I like the forum as it allows us to share ideas and it feels good to contribute even though most of the time I'm wrong.
