all lead to the 404 page. Something we missed?

also, on the subject of anograms, could BEE stand for Bungie Easter Eggs?

 		Freelance, I agree with you that there really isn't anyone out there that we can trust, besides ourselves and Dana (who ran off, great). But I honestly am not sure about them timing us. Were all puzzles solved before phase 1 was complete? And do you think they expect us to solve everything before the metastisizing? Those are actually questions by the way, not rheatorical, I'm new to the whole ARG thing. The only problem I have with that is, if this really is supposed to be the lead up to Halo 2, isn't Earth supposed to be basically annhilated anyways? We should still try our best on this, although, we may still lose at the end.

What do we know about the safe place?
1. The "safe place" has to be something neither the Queen nor the Spider/ Widow can access or read.

2. As text has been hidden in jpg files, we assume neither the queen or the spider can read those files in text editors. ( as noted to read the hidden text, the file had to be first saved and then opened as a text file.)

Question: are there other files that the Queen and the Spider can not access as text?

what about finding the secret?

1. Something that neither the queen or the spider can find yet.

2. Ideas:
a. another site on the same server; maybe something dana was working on? or, what seems less likely to me, maybe something it created..

b. hidden pages or files on the ilovebees site

c. a hidden directory on ilovebees that hasn't been acessed by the queen.


at the moment im betting on recipe three holding some important clue. the fact that there is no chapter 3 and no link to recipe 3 seems significant, especially taking into acocunt the significance bungie places on the number 3.

 		Ok, I'm new to ARG's in general, but I've been lurking around here for a week or so and keeping track of ILB.com. When I read this e-mail some have got, I decided to get involved and offer a different take on the story presented to us in the email.

My take on the story.

Pretty strait forward. The Sleeping Princess is writing a History of Dana. But this is interesting, and I don't think many people see it this way. It's the history of Dana, therefore most of the information in the chapters have to be about Dana's past. This leads me to look at the story in a different light.

Ok, so, if this is a history, I'm going to take this in chronological order by chapters. IT would appear to me that the Sleeping Princess starts her existence as what she is now in the predicament that a immature queen does when in her cell. There already is a queen, and we all know what a new bee queen does to her unborn rivals. Also, I take note of the last line. She talks of stormy weather and being mangled in pieces. Sounds a lot like the monologue from the operator… but the operator doesn't care too much for Dana, now does she?

Now then, I'm going to go out on a ledge and put forth this theory. From earlier messages we know that the SP has been around for a while, assuming the earlier messages were from her. Ok, so, lets go with a crashed ship idea. The AI, its ship, whatever, the vessel of its thought comes crashing down from the heavens, and splats. The fragments of itself probably want to put themselves back together. It may be possible that they do this in a way similar to a beehive. The programs fix themselves in their cells until they are stable or strong enough to emerge, then the dominant one goes out and kills/adsorbs the immature queens. Or this may have been how it was intended, multiple entities from the start. Regardless, It would seem that the little SP can't put itself together.

These two sections are difficult for me to place. I'm not sure what the blues are, but she's hiding from it. As for the flea, I think she thinks of it as some kind of infestation, like the mites in a hive. Interestingly, it would seem that the SP is a little prejudiced against illiteracy. A bit of an elitist Razz

Ok, I'm viewing this as a history, so this chapter probably runs parallel or after the first chronologically. My overall take of this is Dana is alone, obviously. We could take this into the context of a short timeline based just on the recent incident, and it to mean Dana is alone in this problem on the website, and the fleet wants to help, and took a likening to her. But, if we take this as a longer history, it might bring up some interesting takes on this. Suppose we go with the crash. The shards of whatever the entity is lying in some crater. Dana comes along, and picks up the sleeping princess, knowingly or unknowingly and takes it home. (After all, plenty of people collect rocks or various unusually artifacts they find. I know my first instinct when I find something I can't identify, like an arrowhead or a fossilized bone or an interesting formation of rocks is to take it with me.) This obviously draws the other entities into play after a while. Once again, the SP reiterates the fact that the Queen doesn't care much for it, and apparently by extension Dana. It would please the queen to throw them in a condition of extreme danger.

Ok. So regardless of the timeline hear, it's obvious that the SP has been busy poking around, having a lot of adventures. But she doesn't have the time, or inclination to tell us about them here. What is important is that one of them lead to her finding a secret. She's hid that secret in wherever her home is. (Which would seem to be the ILB.com server, or somewhere on Dana's PC or equipment perhapse? Take the Web cam. It could be that the Web cam was on the server, and Dana was working on the server when the pictures were taken. Or she could have been working on the server remotely, and that's her web cam.)

Pretty strait forward, if this is a history, this would be the last chapter that talks about current events. The Sleeping Princess is worried she might not see Dana again, and also, she really needs to show it to Dana, and on the double. It may be that the secret has something it can't figure out with out outside help, or it could be its something of importance to Dana. IF it's the former, we may be able to help it, and the latter we really will need Dana before it will show us much. After all, why should it trust us anymore than we it? However, if Dana comes back to talk to it, it will tell her/us the secret it found. The (?) is from that one email someone sent it (This is one very literal entity. OR its using snippets to avoid detection. Still, it is kind of funny.)

Turtles? I don't know. Maybe someone should try some passwords for the possibly stegged pictures by putting a dash in-between each word and capitalizing it? Doubtful.

The last two lines seem to be it just ending the e-mail. It would appear that it emulates the normal endings we use, hence why it always ends its replies with love. Apparently it things END: FULL LICENSE means the same thing.

All right, well that's my slightly different take on how to read the e-mail. Hopefully it will get some alternate neurons firing, and help others find something new.

Edit: And also, to those worried about calling Dana back like its asking as we can't trust it. Its in a server, and like the operator, it can't harm Dana. Theres nothing hooked up to the server that can be used to cause harm, no remote robots, climate controll, anything. I suppose it might be able to do something like re-route Danas return flight to cuba if it could get out of the server.

 		TMNT & other insomnia induced tangents...
I've seen this touched upon and in other places scoffed at, but I don't think anyone has pointed to it directly. I can't help but keep thinking that the SP refers to a group of genetically altered and green armored heroes for a reason.

It's a little too coincidental. I have no idea as to how such an allusion furthers the story, but I couldn't stand to not see it mentioned.

I think we all agree that she/it is only able to communicate by regurgitating phrases sent to it.

I recall someone quipping that she is doing this because she has no keyboard. I was instantly struck with a mental image of a disheveled and distraut Princess Peach from Mario Bros, hiding in a dark room, and frenetically piecing together messages from old newspaper clippings.

It seemed to fit strikingly well...or maybe I have been up for too long. Wink

So lets send her more material to work with, just try and be clever with your references. We all hate spam.

Also I seem to recall noticing that a line in the e-mail seemed to have grammar that suggested that instead of Sleeping Princess, the author seemed to be implying Sleeping Princes. She just didn't have the right material to work with. I've gone back and re-read it and I can't find the exact sentence that seeded that idea in my mind.

Strange...I don't recall smoking any crack...

to save time on a search, ever so lazy am i.

i would like to ask, has anybody notice in the new email, how some of the text is big and some of it is small?

like two separate messages in one.

upon splicing it up
the first message small text had all info on chapters

the second larger text more or less mainly on dana, two poems to her.

this is deceptive because when you copy the message into something like word, the text all looks the same size. but clearly (after forwarding the message to my google mail) there is small text and big text.

has this been investigated yet???????

dam that fluro green- eyes getting blurry
because with this new message splice- it would appear that there is a new meaning to things. almost as if two people are writing. and this does not cast the pious flea in such a bad light.

newho ill hav a play around with the two messages.

I took this as an If-then statement as well, KoL. The "Well" in "Well, I will tell you a secret" while limited by the source material can work as a "then"

I'm thinking this may just be a call to action or a rally cry. She asking for help, then cheering us on. Sounds a little goofy, but maybe the TMNT reference isn't a hint as much as a little positive affirmation.

 		I haven't bothered to read all 10 pages so I don't know if this is trout. But the first thing that popped in my mind is the Turtles hide in the underground of New York City. So maybe that is where Dana is really going? Just a crazy theory....

 		i forwarded margarets email from hotmail to gmail

and viewed it (its a 23kb attachment) called noname
and some of the text appears smaller and some of it appears larger, downloading the file and viewing it the difference isnt there,

hmmm...
ive also pasted the two messages now.. they might need a bit of rearranging, but it makes a bit more sense than before.


this isnt all in my head is it? someone pls try to view it through gmail and see wat they get
