Just more speculation along the "covert message" line of thought:

If the sleeping princess is a communications/spy AI, it probably knows an awful lot about how to get communications past a hostile AI without drawing unwanted attention to itself...

Aunt Margaret

What about Aunt Margaret? Could she be the key to getting Dana back?

i agree...margaret could play important role....remember how lengthy the PMs went to express her interest in mysteries...maybe she can help us out if we can find her.

yeah, that one was obvious, the next, less so:

Quote:
the "pious flea" and "sleeping princess" (?)

MARK but this flea, and mark in this

don't like it

I can't help it

a proper fool

a bad banana

unimaginable filth and stench; and disease

he can't write his name or read a book

seems like the princess doesn't like the flea but can't do anything about him... and the last line suggests that the flea is NOT an AI, but an automated process like the Widow/SPDR, it has no intelligence beyond its function

While I like CoffeeJedi's idea, I think we have overlooked the idea of the Flea as the Princess' servant. While the Flea itself is not literate, could it not provide the conduit between us and the Sleeping Princess? Digesting our emails and then reformulating the language of the Princess response?

We can think of the Flea as perhaps the Princess' scribe.

An alternate theory to the "sneaky communication"

Could it be that the Princess' memory has been erased and she is building a new vocabulary from the input that she is receiving via e-mail?

My personal opinion? No, for two reasons. First, the Sleeping Princess seems to need to use longer strings of words in order to avoid detection, not just one word at a time. Otherwise, I'm sure that by now she could say whatever she wanted, however she wanted to say it. Second, I believe someone named Kybard already tried this.

It's interesting to note that "No." received an email today, yet never emailed ladybee777... he/she only emailed dana... so that's one thing here... So one wonders if dana is getting her emails lately? Also, then, if Dana's email is monitored by the Sleeping Princess, then how are we to contact Dana? Has anyone sent anything to the address where the honey came from? maybe to get a message to Aunt M, then--->Dana?

Any thoughts on this?

But how would we get in touch with Aunt M.?

A thought just occured to me, though it's probably nothing. What if Margaret is connected somehow to this AI in a closer sense then we thought before? It misses Dana, we can see.

It sounds like the Sleeping Princess is missing Dana, and wants to hear her voice again, wants her to return.

The phrase that stuck out in that post was "hear her voice again". Brought back memories of Dana's message. "Mom, I know you're calling just to hear the sound of my voice..."

And this entity is using Margaret's e-mail right? Heck, maybe Aunt M. was always someone, or something, different then Dana thought all along.

But eh, just about everyone else here is smarter then me. So I'll let you guys work it out Very Happy

::EDIT:: I didn't recieve an e-mail, but I've only e-mailed Dana. I e-mailed her the day before she left, and never got a response. I don't think that this new e-mail went to everyone who e-mailed Dana.

Well, we know something:

It looks like there's no use sending her links. She can't use HTTP protocol. Well, she can send e-mails, but that's probably because she's directly connected to it, maybe into the SMTP server or something.

Why don't we send a conversation, a very informal dialogue or something like that? Everybody is sending poems, stories or whatever. It seems perfectly plausible that she's having trouble communicating, it's hard for her? Didn't she say "reading it in English Strange. " Well of course! It's not everyday that an (supposedly) restrained AI reads and understands a long book.

(*EDIT: in response to Sargus' last comment) I don't think that's valid thinking there... I know we're grasping at what to do with this info, but it's pretty obvious that Margaret is real, and is a person, and nothing more. She bought the ticket for Dana a long time ago, and obviously knows Dana well, which means Dana knows her well... I wouldn't read anything into Aunt M. except for the fact that she has not responded to any of this directly, which could mean one of two things:

(1) the likely story, that she's quite web illiterate, and just doesn't really know what to do when all this started happening, and especially now...

(2) the odd possibility, that she's purposely silenced, or is being kept out of the loop so she wouldn't know to respond.

Just a quick thought on the TMNT thing... We've already seen a quote from Kafkha's "Metamorphosis", and the ninja turtles also went through a metamorphosis. Also, the bug and the turtles both have hard shells.

Perhaps a recurring theme(s)?

(3) her email address has been taken over and she can't respond (sort of a combination of 1 and 2 I guess)

So, is there ANY other way to contact Margaret?

Ok, well that was sent a couple of days ago, so it should be in the P.O. Box now, right? Has anyone been monitoring that box? Should we check to see if it arrived? If it was picked up? (Maybe someone should send a letter with receipt confirmation or something? can you do that?)

The whole metamorphosis bit could be an allusion the the fact that she morphed from something else... maybe a human?
