[SPEC] Do we Need an Innocent Bystander?

To move further i think we need to find the innocent bystander that the sleeping princess has found, but we have not.

In the green text on the Bang! Bang! frame, the princess says:
"I was looking at your site a little awry and have found an innocent bystander. Can you(?)"

I guess the first step would be to find out what she means with "a little awry" ie : looking at the site in a way we haven't so far (or maybe we have, but failed to locate and indentify the" innocent bystander")

Hmmm. How about Margaret's sister, Chloe?
We know almost nothing about her...
Surely, with her sister and her daughter involved in this, she must at least be aware of it...

I think it's been established (or at least supposed from their nature, and it's a theory I go with) that the Sleeping Princess' responses are composed from fragments of the emails that have been sent to the hotmail account. So, the makeup of the sentence depends a little on what she has to work with. It's probable that:

"I was looking at your site a little awry and have found an innocent bystander. Can you(?)"

comes from several fragments, like these, for example:

"I was looking at your site", "a little awry", "and have found", "an innocent bystander", and "Can you".

And in turn, those fragments may not fit the meaning it's after exactly. So that could be the closest it can construct to "I've seen what's happening to your website, how it's going all awry, and I've realised you're just an innocent bystander, aren't you?"

Now, the only bit it adds itself is the question mark, which is what someone who emailed taught it to use to signify a question (evidence for this is in the Q&As in the killer jpegs). Perhaps we need to reconstruct The Sleeping Princess' vocabulary so it can make itself clearer? I'm not sure how we'd go about doing that, but has anyone tried sending it any basic dictionary files to chew up?

Maybe someone can explain this to me.

One of the killer.jpg files contains:
Quote:
Question:

So what happens on August 24?
If I have a question, I use this mark (?) at the end.

Answers:

I don't know what will happen.

Your revolution comes (?)

I'm really concerned about it.

I can't even begin to make a guess.

love,

Then, on about.html comes the text:

Quote:
I was looking at your site a little awry
and have found an innocent bystander.
Can you (?)

Where the "(?)" implies that this is the person 'talking' through killer.jpg. He/she wants to know about an "innocent bystander". But then another killer.jpg file contains:

Quote:
Question:

What are you?

I am some kid who wants to get noticed, very clever an instigator an

innocent bystander stored in an airtight container in the deepest and

darkest Sleeping casket in a chamber of the dungeon.

Do you understand this? Whatever you are?

love,

And here this person says he/she IS "an innocent bystander".

So is the princess just asking on about.html whether we have 'found her' in killer.jpg yet?

That's sort of what I was thinking. Maybe the PMs didn't think we'd have found the imbedded text yet Very Happy

Yes, a while ago. And knowing how it speaks as of now, I gave it a message composed of pieces of text from the website, edited slightly in the probably vain hope that it would get the message more clearly:

Quote:
HONEY has healing qualities, too! Ancient Egyptians USEd IT on wounds because GERMS CANNOT GROW IN HONEY.

hope to be back in business soon!

Love,

Attached was honey.txt, an appropriately renamed and pretty comprehensive dictionary-list text file.

I sent it to both Dana and ladybee777, on the thought that Dana's e-mail might have been repurposed by now as well, at least in part.

Waiting on a reply.

It's an interesting theory, but I think the repeating expression is just symptomatic of the fact that the Sleeping Princess doesn't have that much text to work with. She saying she's not the one attacking the website, in the same way she might be saying Dana's not *deliberately* trying to kill The Queen. Both innocent bystanders. Possibly.

The message seems to be from the AI...it has the same semi-cocky style that the rest of the AI's monologue is written in. We now know that the AI is pissed and is after Dana. Would it be beyond her to use Chloe or Margaret (two innocent bystanders by far) to get at Dana?

I'm not sure if all of those questions and answers fit together 'as-is'. From the looks of them there could possibly be some re-arranging needed.

This is just a silly bit of SPEC, but couldn't Awry stand for Awbry? Just add the b in there. Since the being seems to be using words from other websites, etc. perhaps he couldn't find the name Awbry so he used awry instead?

I want to ask if anyway can say who the Princess is actually talking to through the text. Since she is the only other person/thing we have actually communications with (Dana is the first person of course), those text might be meant for us, than the Innocent bystander is Dana. On the other hand if she is talking to Dana, then the Innocent bystander could very well be collectively everyone that has seet her a email. I wonder if Dana has actually sent email to ladybee herself.

The Bystander

Could it be the cat? I've notice the image hasn't been corrupted yet (at least everytime I reload the page). Could this hold the next clue, as in when the next phase occurs? Also, could this law of truth hold same influence for AIs as the laws of Robotics hold for Asimov's original (not those fakes portrayed in that mockery of Asimov's and other Sci-fi writers works) positronic robots, I.E. force their electronic pathways (their equivalent to synapes and neurons) to fry and essencially make them braindead? After all, AIs are essencially just minds, so failure to follow the guidelines of their programming (what holds the data together) would cause them to... actually what would happen to an AI that no longer followed its directives? Especially in the universe this Halo thing takes place in? Don't mind me though, I'm just a casual lurker. So ladies and gents, good day. })

Even that image gets corrupted sometimes: http://bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?title=Corrupted_Image_Text#about.html

I liked the idea though. If somehow certain images remained 'untouched', and this person mentions a preference for those things, that would be.... interesting.

But alas.

Yeah, I know now. Though this is the first I've seen it done that though, since I first found this thing at 11:42 last night. Weird. Should I upload the image or give it to someone?
