Hi. I probably should have introduced myself way back when I joined a little while back, but anyway... I'm from Alabama (woohoo?) and I'm about to enter college. I was a lurker for a long time on here (like two years or so). I have a good memory for things and an extensive library of science fiction and fantasy books. I like to write stories and draw. I'm pretty good at figuring out stuff, research wise especially.

Hello,

My name is ON3 ARM,

I followed ILB closely and was strongly tempted to drive south out of Canada to try and reach a payphone in Idaho and now that Iris has started I figured this time around I should actually try and participate. So after making an account here the first thing I wanted was a pic for my avatar and I have to say I think I came up with something quite clever. And upon finding this thread I had to show it off.

Let me know what you guys and girls think.

I went to dictionary.com and look up to see if "ris" was an actual word and...

Ris

\Ris\, n. [AS. hr[=i]s; akin to D. rils, G. reis, OHG. hr[=i]s.] A bough or branch; a twig. [Obs.]

Hence the reasoning behind my pic!

Happy ARG'ing and good luck all!

hi all. i'm a theatrical technician/stage manager/office manager. i ran across the world of ARG's a long while ago but too much work makes for a dull girl. i randomly stumbled upon an ARG blog site recently and it rekindled my thorough interest. i'm hoping to find an ARG that's newer to jump in to (it seems rather difficult to pick up in the middle of one). if there are any suggestions for upcoming/just starting ones to leap into, please feel free to let me know! happy hunting Smile

or How To Spill Your Secrets To Complete Strangers: A Guide In Lying

Hello. My name is Bob. What are you wearing?

I felt like drowning you in my personal woes, so I saw this thread and said, "WOW! That's for me!" I am 6 foot 2, have a very muscular body, and enjoy long walks on the beach at sunset. But seriously, I'm a teen who has been following ARGs for some time now, but until just recently I had not joined unfiction. I still haven't participated in any major ARGs but I hope to do so soon. I am excited about working with the great community that is unfiction on whatever the PMs have in store for us.

I've caught up on most of the jargon, and one day I may attempt to create an ARG myself. But until then, I'll be watching you - er, I mean the world of ARGs.

Hey everyone - I'm new here. I'm not sure what any of this is, but I wanted to join in on the 1 18 08 discussion.

I'm in a band, I like music, and thats about it.

Wow, I kind of dove right in and started posting in torrential downpours, so I apologize if I annoyed(or am currently annoying) anyone.

I'm an adolescent (angst, angst!) and I'm currently in college Rolling Eyes which is actually treating me fairly well. I tend to use the word "fairly" way too much, but that's okay. Everyone has certain phrases that they overuse anyway, right? I'm a stickler for grammar, spelling, and mechanics, though I'm not perfect. I like spam, and by spam I mean the meaty goodness that resides in a rectangular can Exclamation . I know Cantonese, but I have yet to utilize it in an ARG. I dye my hair a different color every week and I always look different from my pictures (I like to keep people guessing). It's 11:14 PM where I am right now and I think I will go eat some bread pudding now.

ELLO!

 NEW!
yes yes thats me

The closest I've ever come to playing an arg is hearing about Majestic a while back. I hope to become active on one soon.

I am a full time mother, part time college student.

Greetings, Howdy and Happy Thanksgiving!

My Name is Stephen Miles Lewis and I've been interested in posting here since at least January of this year:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=13544

I'm posting here out of protocol but hope to start a dialogue with folks over in the META section.

Briefly...

I first became aware of ARGs in late 2000, early 2001, due to the game MAJESTIC.

As someone interested in the scientific, social and experiential investigation and exploration of mysterious strange phenomena like consciousness, UFOs, the paranormal and parapsychological, I was worried about the potential contamination of these fields by the mixing of real and fake info in MAJESTIC:

Majestic Art of Mind Kontrol / Majestic Art of Electronic Disinformation
- by SMiles Lewis
http://www.elfis.net/mkc/mkcx/majesticarts.htm

I had worked at Origin Systems, Inc. briefly back when they were bought-out by EA who of course are the ones who put out MAJESTIC and I grew up playing RPGs and videogames so am no stranger to gaming in general.

Over the years I have had a growing and renewed interest in ARGs and Stealth/Viral Marketing.

This led me back to one of the "fan" sites for MAJESTIC which ever since those majestic days has become a quite popular community for paranormal and conspiracy folks. After posting a simple query about their origins and connection to MAJESTIC I was contacted by someone whom I would later learn was investigating a certain bit of presumed UFO Disinfo known as the SERPO saga:

History of AboveTopSecret.com incomplete? - ATS
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread261563/pg1

Then about 6 months later I would be drawn to a strange situation wherein a blogger whose perspectives on the paranormal and parapolitical were very synchronistically in-line with my own thinking had gone down a strange rabbit hole indeed: the blogger believed that the July double suicides of artists Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake ... were part of some sort of ARG-like artistic hoax / viral marketing campaign (links below).

This and another case of "internet shenanigans" have obsessed me deeply for the last 4 months.

I'm going to stop my introduction there and continue it within it's own thread here...

Hello

Hello all,

Just found this thread also... My post is a little late I guess considering I've been a member for a couple months...

Anyway, my name is Jeff. I'm thirty-something. I'm from Southern Illinois. I work as a towboat pilot on the Lower Mississippi River and a lot of the smaller ones down south.
I've been working on the river for about 8 years now...

I have 2 children 12 and 10 who live with their mother.

Merry Christmas and Happy new year..

Wow, I literally JUST found this thread.

I'm Will. I guess you could call me a young'un. I come from some place no one ever goes besides the occasional amish dude.
Iris led me here but I never got into it (mainly because they refused to send me a prize...) and got into a couple games and two months in I was already a PM, heading LonelyBrent17 which died two months later when my partner disappeared off the face of the earth.

Anyway, I'm working on a new project now that is sure to revolutionize the way ARG's are played...or at least that's what I tell myself at night.

I'm a HS senior, heading to Champlain College in Vermont come August and can't wait.

Oh, yeah, and I like to party.
Wink

I guess I'd better introduce myself. Very Happy

I go by the name, Blacklight. I am an ex-punk rocker. I have a small home reccording studio where I create experimental electronic music. I collect synthisizers. I also am into circuit bending. I use a lot of audio editing software.

I also enjoy board wargames and hardcore computer military sims, especially Dangerous Waters, Sub Command, and Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare.

I also persue the nerdy hobby of role playing games (Dungeons & Dragons anyone ?).
I collect games. My collection includes over a thousand games (Including suppliments), both role playing and board wargames dating from present time all the way back to the mid 60's.

I was a player in the ARG, AWARE. I also did a stint in a couple others.

My signature is from one of the "Others". It was from an ARG that went belly up. This was one of the puzzles that we found that no one could decode and it's remained that way to this day. Most people think it's just a prank code (Myself included), but since I spent so much time harping on it, it pretty much became my catchphrase. Very Happy

The only types of ARG's I dislike are the ones where I'll get on track with the story and everything... but then return an hour later to find 100000000000 posts of discoveries that completely leave me in the dust due to the massive number of players (ILOVEBEES was a fine example. I couldn't keep up with that nomatter how I tried). I much prefer the smaller games with fewer people playing as this gives everyone a chance to do something.

I'm waiting for the next trailhead to pop up. Then I'll jump right into it and hopefully be able to keep up with it. Very Happy
