RSS FEED!

I never would have found this if not for the new (and fancy) meta-RSS feed in my mail box!

My name is Star Spider (for real)! I have been around for... oh wow like a year at least now... I initially came here during my self-study of game design and I have learned a lot!

I am in events management and am a budding game designer. My focus is on live action gaming, interactive performance and games integrated into live events but I am testing the waters to see about multi-media augmentation for immersive live gaming. I am taking a year to get some test games under my belt and see if I can make a big push to be a designer for fascinating experiences for the rest of my life!

I am excited about life, thrilled to be in a position to strive for my dreams and constantly encouraging other people to do the same!

I love to discuss the meta stuff and the back bone behind game design and I can be quite opinionated from time to time, but I really try to remain as logical as possible to get the most out of every discussion!

I love science, math, technology, spirituality, logic, truth and passion.
I see life is a HUGE adventure not to be wasted!!!

Have fun everyone - life is too short for anything else!

Good morning all. I go by the name Batt. My username came before I knew anything about leet speak. (I swear). Anyway, I am in the US Army, been here for 17+ years now. I first saw a glimps of ARG's when I read the Da Vinci code and went to the website. They had a puzzle ther that totally captured my attention. Anyway, I had no idea they were called ARG's until about 2 weeks ago when I was reading a copy of The Smithsonian magazine. I saw an article on these games and found my way here. I guess it was my first test.

I am currently trying my hand at "The Game Is A Cover Up". I feel wayyyyy out of my element doing this, but man it feels good.

Good Evening all

My name is Krissy, I actually only learned about ARG's two days ago. I've been trying my best to follow everything. The most I can say is that I'm enthusiastic but very confused.
So far I very much enjoy the District 9 ARG, I think I'll prefer chaotic fiction for its character interactions. I love playing with my perception of reality, and these games are definitely stretching my mind.
Some personal things: I love Photoshop. I also own three hamsters: two dwarf hamsters, one syrian. I work and go to school. I work at a craft and sewing store and I live in Northern Virginia. I have a weird sense of humor, and it's hard to say what I'll find funny. Oh! And I'm 20 years old. I'm a junior in college. I went to a community college the first two years.

Anywhos, thank you! Nice to meet you all!

I'm Daniella, I learned about ARGs a few days ago so i'm still kind of excited about them but there is one thing killing my buzz:
I cannot find an ARG that doesn't have to do with ghosts, death, or murder!
I want non-scary ones! I'm starting to think they just don't exist...

anyway, I started the voices in the static ARG then stopped because it's too creepy for my tastes

(any suggestions would be great)
thanks + hello to everyone Smile

Welcome welcome. Just be patient. There's all kinds of ARGs. Something will come along to interest you. Meanwhie, lurk - watch the other players hunt for the missing or the bad guy or the whatever. It'll be fun!

Howdy. I just found The Ocular site, and it confused the Hell out of me. I was sitting there for literally hours, trying to figure out what was going on. It was frustrating, but it felt like I'd stumbled across something completely amazing (Which I had). After hours and hours of fiddling, I eventually got not very far at all and now I'm watching gears spin continuously. Great start, huh? Hours worth of "Work" and I get one step into the game. I posted it on another board I frequent, and a member on there pointed me towards ARGnet. While disappointed that I hadn't accidentally uncovered the meaning of existence and the potential reality that God exists, I made do with the fact that there's tons of other weird crap out there for me to waste my time on!

So here I am, and hope to waste my life in alternative realities.

I thought I had posted in here before, but it turns out I haven't...
Hello! You can call me kraken, or whatever other clever nicknames you can think up. I lurked on here for quite a while before making an actual account. I was into SilverLadder, but dropped it because of school stuff. I'm now looking for any new and interesting ARGs to get into, and suggestions are appreciated!

Hej!
I'm Swedish, and have played in a few ARG's: Conspirare/Sanningen om Marika, Cathy's book & Cathys Key, and recently Dollplay.
Just recently found my way here by googling Dollplay, I'm writing a piece on it currently, an a bit about viral marketing and ARG's in general will also be discussed in my article. I hope it's all right that I ask a few questions in another thread? And feel free to ask me anything! Just not personal things! I don't want to be known too much as myself. Wink

Hello,

So I'm from Ireland I'm a total n00b.
Been researching ARGs for about a year as part of my final year BA in Theatre (submission next week! Shocked )
Haven't gotten anywhere NEAR deep enough into the topic so will be doing even more research on them as part of a Ph.D.
Played some of The Lost Ring, went through the archives of ILB and The Beast. Got a little annoyed at the California-centric nature of 42 Entertainment's stuff. Was overjoyed to find European links in the Star Trek ARG that's just starting. Archives is one thing but nothing compares to playing it as it happens.

Might do some PMing next year. Irish players watch this space Wink

Greetings and salutations, all.

I'm joining here from Richmond, VA, though it's looking like I'll be relocating to around the Philadelphia area in a few months. I'm 21 years old, just graduated college, and poking around the forums here has been way more fun than filling out job applications, heh.

I first really heard about ARGs when I read an article about all the stuff surrounding TDK, and it completely fascinated me. Two of my friends and I used to do really small-scale stuff for some of our college friends... mysterious letters, clues to discover new letters in hidden locations, phone numbers to call for new information... but unfortunately whenever we tried to start those up somebody got freaked out before we ever finished. So I guess I've been doing ridiculously simple ARG-type-things (sort-of-not-really) for the past two years. The idea of being part of something a bit more elaborate really appeals to me, though.

What finally brought me here was poking around the District 9 stuff, so I'm hoping that'll expand soon... Other than that, I'm totally digging just lurking around.

If anyone needs a contact or help with anything in Virginia or around Philadelphia, I'm your lady! Super excited to dive in.

You're doing research on ARGs for a PhD? That's awesome.

I've been lurking around for quite some time now (over a year, I guess - I stumbled upon the Wikipedia-entry for PerplexCity, and then started reading, like, this entire forum), and I thought that maybe I should finally admit that I find this whole ARG-thing incredibly cool. So, here I am.

I do regret the fact that most real-life stuff happens in the US, but should a drop be made here in Belgium, I'm your man. (Not very likely, I'm afraid?)

It isn't always in the US.

I think "Triangle Mystery" had some RL stuff go down in Belgium as well.

Hi all!
I chanced upon this site when I read about D9 and the Iris campaign and decided to google ARG for fun.
I just found this a few days ago, and since D9 is still kinda slow I'm looking to Nothing Here Alive to keep me busy.
Interests: Well, I like math and I play the piano. Thats all. Oh, and I play tennis as well.
