[QUESTION] Origins of the AI

I think we might be overlooking the biggest question/puzzle of all.

How did the AI get onto Dana's computer?

I haven't seen any in depth look into this question from anyone.
In hopes that Dana might be able to shed some light on this question, I sent her this email today:

Importance: High

Dana,
I've just read your blog and I am very glad you are coming back to join the hunt.
I just have one question that I don't think anyone else has asked…
How did this "AI" get on your computer?
I've read through all of the snippets of dialogue that have become part of your site, none of it states or indicates how it got there.
From what I can tell, the "AI" just woke-up and was on your computer.
Did you do anything the day of/before you noticed the website problems?
Did you install a new router? Wireless components? Download any new programs? Or perhaps pick up any rocks/garbage/fossils/metal objects?

It seems that we should look at the root cause of the problems before we can stop it from harming us or you.

Please let me know your answers.

Thanks

P.S. I have sent this email to both your email and your aunt's email to see if we can get some of these questions answered by the "AI"

Trout me if need be, but I think this really needs to be answered.

Mayday

[edit ...let me know if I'm way off topic here]

Actually, mayday, this has been brought up on the Mysteries page of the Wiki. Feel free to discuss any and all theory there!

(*edit - This is trout, but the freshest variety, and not deserving of the trout icon, IMO... However, in the interests of the posting populace at large, I will use another humorous animated icon to denote that this topic is to hereby cease and desist...)

Locky!
