 		[OT][Question][Trivia]Is Dana Actually in China?
This is less a question about this specific game but more about ARG's in general, my question would be, is Dana actually in China? What I mean by that is if I went to China and somehow found out where Dana was/is, could i actually meet her? or is all the posting being done through some sort of 3rd party, After all it doesn't really seem all that plausible that the PMs would send someone to China just for a game

I would say two things:

1) With Dana's emergency exit, we were given the fact that all the hacking etc. attention given to Dana was not accomplishing much, not the direction the game was going.

2) AFAIK, there has been little in-person contact in this game. Thus it is unlikely that someone would be in china.

[NEW TOPIC] [SPEC] What is interesting now is that she is contacting us through her blog again. Does this mean that we have not performed properly and so she came back to "put us on the right track"? I may create a real new topic for this issue.

 		I really think shes in china, well. I doubt she exsis for this being a game, a merem employe for bungie, But what she is supposed to be is in china.

I'm half tempted to buy a plane ticket to dan fransico and find her "house"

 		I doubt she's really in China, but its a really really great place to send the character to keep people from really trying to hunt her down Smile One of the challenges of being a PM, is keeping the characters protected, if in fact their real actors/actress's like in this case. I assume (and I think rightfully so) that Dana is an actress, and that she does not play a role in-game 24/7 and has a life outside all of this. She doesn't need people actively trying to hunt her down and interfering with her regular life. If someone magically said, "I've searched all of Beijing with my super-high tech gadget, and no Dana...", the story could easily change to move her to another Asian country because her character bought an All-Asia pass.

At some point in the game, we/you/Bob might be called on to actually meet Dana. In that case, yeah, if you went to Location X where Dana is supposed to be, you'd find her. Otherwise its safe to assume that any in-game character location is false unless given direct evidence otherwise. She might actually be there, yes, but theres no point, and no story driven reason to actually find her there.

Is Dana really in China?

1. In the context of the ilovebees universe, we know that Dana says she is in China. After being spooked by the Operator/Queen taking over her webcam, she fled to China. This was consistent with her previous intentions. For the moment, I believe her story.

Is she lying to us and really still in San Francisco or in some other location? I doubt it. Does the possibility exist that she knows more than she has told us, is prevaricating or misleading us? Yes, that is always possible.

2. In the context of the out-of-game universe, which includes this forum and the chat rooms, Dana is a character in a story, a part of a game we are playing. This is why the forum, the guide and the chat rooms remain out of game. They don't exist in the ilovebees universe. If Dana came to the forums, for example, she would see us discussing her as a character in a story, that would reek havoc on the ilovebees world. The same is true for the chat rooms and the guide.

3. In-game contact with characters is initiated by the character. (When Dana asked in her blog where she could send people to get more information she was clear that she would not be talking there.) Where and when to chat with characters or to meet them in person will be in a message they send to us. That is not to say this game will have interaction with characters. If it does, however, the character will let us know.

 		It's quite possible, y'know, that they have one model for the photos of Dana, and then several people writing her - one to do her blog, one to read emails and pick out the best ones to reply to, and then one to reply to the best emails ...
