I'll be checking everything out after work tomorrow, hopefully there will be some cool stuff, and you guys wouldn't have solved everything before I get back.

the 11th mebe? but hour wise?
Well, so far every night In NZ (where I am) it's been 11pm when the count has gone down, so I'd assume between 7.30 and 9pm on the 10th (today) depending on what part of aussie you're in? (perth is 3.5 hours behind NZ I think?)

Well, I am up at 7Am, and when I went to check the site, it auto-directed me to another automatic download, which played a .wav of bees buzzing.
Went there a 2nd time on the same computer and it did not happen again...

bees1.wav has been part of the puzzle for a while now.

you may have just hit one of the refreshes where it was present, or possibly used a new browser. At any rate.. old news.

Now you've gotten me paranoid. *sits here waiting for virus scan to finish*
However, I would think (or hope, at least) that something like that would be out of bounds for an ARG. There's a difference between the mystery-solving that we're doing and "infecting" the computer of a player (meaning one of us). I mean, I do understand the immersion aspect of ARGs, but still. Seems to go a little too far for me.

This has probably been pointed out already, but the countdown timer does not display on some browsers. These browsers are likely to be less vulnerable to viral infections.
I do suggest that everybody switches to a browser *other* than IE until... Microsoft gets bought out.
Or the medium metasizzilewhizzlemynizzilefoshizzileizes.

Er. That would be so far out of bounds that it would be over the horizon and disappearing into the distance. It won't have installed anything on your PC. What about all those people who stumbled across ILoveBees.com by accident? Plus, there's the fact that it's actually illegal for someone to install software on your machine without you giving them permission to do so (at least in Britain) as it constitutes unauthorised access to a computer system.
(besides, given that the current theory goes that MS are in some way behind this ARG, just how stupid do you think they'd have to be to use an exploit in their own browser to covertly install stuff on people's machines? The legal shit would hit the fan with such unimaginable force that no-one even remotely involved with the development of IE or this ARG would be able to avoid getting caught in the spray)

Don't forget the possible theory that all of this had nothing to do with Microsoft and could be all Bungie's fault.

It would be awfully dissapointing if Nothing happened. But we probably just have to wait for 12:00pm or so for it to be updated. Tick...tick...tick...tick.
